Short but spectacular. The hike up to the Tiger's Nest is not particulalry difficult, and the temple was truly iconic. Our guide lead us through much more of the temple than we had expected would be open to the public.

I’m just back from the Annapurna Circuit trip with my son and, following the recommendation of a friend, cannot praise Nepal Eco-Adventure highly enough for the excellent value and expert delivery of the trek. I was travelling with my 18 year old son and Chattra was incredibly responsive and informative on all issues and concerns raised in the buildup. The tour was thoughtfully structured and the food and accommodation always exceeded expectations. We couldn’t have hoped to be in better hands than our guide, Santos, who had an expert knowledge of every detail of the route, altitude and local culture and took every possible step to ensure our safety and enjoyment throughout. We don’t know how we’d have made it over the Thorong La without him! A final word of praise for our porter, Ramesh, who not only was superhuman to get our baggage to the destination way ahead of us each day but still found time to beat us at cards each evening. Thank you Nepal Eco-Adventure – we hope to return!

The trip was a wonderful journey through the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas (Gokyo Ri & Renjo La Pass 12 days). The weather was perfect, no rain, no thunder storms, little snow! The food was very tasty and prepared with love! The choice of drinks was very limited (only black coffe & black tea included in the price) which was a bit disappointing. The accomodations were all basic but Ok, the owners of the tea houses and lodges did their best to offer us decent rooms. So all in all this sounds like a 5-star rating BUT the 2 last days of our trip which we spent entirely in Lukla waiting for our flight back to Kathmandu was a disaster. Due to weather conditions, flights get postponed, this is absolutely normal and we knew this. We calculated an extra day in case there is no flight! But somewhat we saw all other tourists leave hour after hour and only me and my wife were doomed to stay in Lukla. We did not get news or information about our flight when or how we fly back. It was a constant unknown-ness which drove us crazy. At some point we started to talk to other guides from different companies to get at least some info which is not the way it should be. We felt left alone by our guide who took a back seat to our frustrating situation and leaving us with no other choice than taking the helicopter! At the end we had to pay 820$ on top!! This is very unsatisfying and this should not be the norm! This is a dubious business with pushing tourists into paying even more money! A machinery that seems VERY suspicious to me! Nevertheless this left us with a bad aftertaste and we could not recommend to anyone to go through this. I am sure this situation will result in a decline of tourist hype in the coming seasons, quite sad I must say. Anyway, the trip was nice and well organised beforehand, it was only the end that ended in an unhappy ending..

Dear, Niels, First of all thanking you on reviewing us on this platform as it helps to upgrade our services. We are glad to hear that you hadn’t had issues with the guides and porter. You enjoyed the Trek. well appreciated for that. But I would like to make clarification about your disappointment. For the drinks we always recommend you to have a black tea/coffee because it is not safe to have a milk tea/coffee in the mountains as they use the powdered milk. It was just recommended but if you have asked for it we should have provided to you for sure. At the moment Nepal is experiencing the bad weather due to some climatic changes, so the last 2 days which you felt terrible but it was beyond our control over the weather. But we still managed to evacuated you. It was not just two of you who got stocked in the Lukla, there were more than 500 people facing the same scenario for 2-3 days. We had a clear communication to take your flight to Ramechhap (the only alternative to fly out from Lukla by plane that day), but you denied it. Its not just you who paid $820 for two persons, on top of flight ticket $200 USD each. There were many other people willing to pay that amount or even more as they were so desperate (as the price is not constant and based on demand and supply) to get out of Lukla by helicopter. So rather than dropping your disappointment you should have appreciated how hardly we did managed to arrange the helicopter and was also you were the one who insisted to arrange the helicopter. The guide will always be patient in that situation he will be helpless in that scenario. On the very first day 98% of the flight was operated from Ramechhap to Lukla, but we still managed to have your flight directly from Kathmandu (never to be forgotten), else you have to take a long drive waking in the middle of night to Ramechhap. Taking helicopter was your own choice. You wasn't pushed to take helicopter at all. You were pushing so hard to get the helicopter. ADVICE: We highly advice to have one or two buffer days after the trek as the flight to and from Lukla is uncertain due to the climatic changed.
