      About this trip

Escape with Heidi MacVane and Sandy Bechard to Lake Atitlan, a magical crater lake located in the heart of Guatemala. This retreat will provide you with the perfect opportunity to invest in yourself, as well as explore a remote and sacred part of the world that will open your heart and your perspective to what could be.

What can you expect on this retreat?

Our journey begins with an overnight stay in the colonial city of Antigua, where our community will gather and connect for the first time. You'll have time to explore the unique architecture, rooftop restaurants, and boutiques of Antigua prior to meeting up for a welcome dinner that evening. We highly recommend coming in a night early, if you can, to enjoy even more time in this city!

On day 2, we will make our way to Lomas de Tzununa, a lakefront retreat center with a relaxing vibe, and stunning views of Lake Atitlan. Once there, you will have ample opportunity to experience the Mayan culture of Lake Atitlan, connect with nature, practice yoga in community, and create your own adventure.

Our time together will include daily all levels yoga classes with Heidi and Sandy, locally sourced meals, two included cultural and adventure-driven excursions, and plenty of time for you to relax and recharge amongst the stunning hillside grounds of Lomas de Tzununa and Lake Atitlan. Our retreat center features an on-site pool, temazcal sauna, and restaurant / lounge area, all available for you to enjoy! Heidi and Sandy will offer a variety of yoga classes, from vinyasa to restorative to nidra, to keep the week's practices well-rounded and offer something for everyone.

Outdoor lovers will have ample opportunity to partake in many activities throughout our week including: kayaking, hiking, stand up paddle boarding, horseback riding, zip lining, and paragliding, to name a few. Cultural activities include local cooking and weaving classes, and coffee farm tours. Boat rides are readily available to visit neighboring Mayan villages where you can enjoy local foods, markets, and some of the best textile and arts shopping in Central America.

Come experience Guatemala with Heidi, Sandy and the GPY Community. This week will change your life, if you let it. ;)

Here's how you can get started...

A $500 deposit is required to reserve your spot on this retreat. The balance is due 120 days before trip departure, by September 15th. Flexible payment plans can be set up at no extra charge. Simply email to inquire.

      About Lake Atitlan

Lake Atitlan is a magical, 50 square mile, crater lake located in south-east Guatemala. At its deepest point, it’s over 1,100 feet! It’s approximately a 3.5 hour drive from Guatemala City and 2 hours from the beautiful colonial city of Antigua. Surrounded by majestic volcanoes and cultural Mayan villages, Lake Atitlan is the perfect place to disconnect, explore, and open your heart and perspective to what could be.

I had an incredible experience in the Azores! The accommodations were fantastic, the group was incredibly supportive and welcoming, and the excursions were thoroughly enjoyable. I can't praise Mooch enough—the attention to detail was simply unbelievable. From the thoughtful goodies to pairing us up with the perfect roommates, everything felt carefully planned and intentional. I would highly recommend Mooch to anyone seeking a retreat that promotes wellness, rejuvenation, and mindfulness. 11/10!

This trip was a dream come true. Every aspect exceeded my expectations. Jenna and Katrina are lovely souls who provided a fun and inclusive growth experience that I will remember and cherish for a lifetime. SolSeed Retreats did a phenomenal job with every detail in the planning and execution of this week in Spain. I cannot possibly explain how impressed I was by their operation in an online review, but that I booked another retreat with them within a week of returning from this one is testament to how much I value their business and entrust my precious bit of annual vacation time to their hands. Thank you for all the memories.

Thank you again for yet another fabulous retreat, full of experiences from yoga, hot air ballooning, camel riding on the beach, cooking class, delicious food, and amazing accommodations. Setting aside some free days to explore and rest. It was nice to get an inside look at the area with a local guide. Ismail was very accommodating and informative. He made sure we were taken care of. I love how the trip was worry free but magical every day. It's unfortunate our group got hit with Covid, like I have never experienced before. That was just bad luck. Definitely made for a memorable trip. Thanks again for organizing an unforgettable holiday.
