The Annapurna Base Camp Trek is a rewarding Himalayan journey through terraced hills, rhododendron forests, traditional villages and dramatic mountain landscapes. The adventure begins in Kathmandu and continues to Pokhara before entering the Annapurna Conservation Area and following the Modi Khola Valley toward the high mountains.
The trail passes through welcoming Gurung and Magar communities, with a sunrise hike to Poon Hill offering spectacular views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli and Nilgiri. From Chhomrong, the route continues through Bamboo, Deurali and Machhapuchhre Base Camp before reaching Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 metres.
Surrounded by towering peaks, the Annapurna Sanctuary is the highlight of the trek. The return journey leads to Jhinu Danda, where you can relax in natural hot springs beside the Modi Khola River. With comfortable teahouses, varied scenery and a moderate pace, this 13-day trek is suitable for both first-time and experienced trekkers.
