About this trip

Our tours make you experience the real Guatemala with 100% of profits going directly to Niños de Guatemala schools. Just by taking a tour, you are helping to support families in need in Guatemala!

Explore Antigua with a local! Learn about the city’s history as well as daily life here nowadays. We will visit Cerro de la Cruz and Antigua’s most emblematic churches, monuments and buildings as well as the local market with a particular section for handicrafts.

Cerro de la Cruz

The first stop on our walking tour is Antigua’s famous lookout, offering fantastic panoramic views of the city and surrounding. Here you’ll learn about Antigua’s history as the third capital city of the Spanish government and the impact this left behind. You’ll be able to take some beautiful pictures of Antigua from above with volcanoes Agua, Fuego and Acatenango in the background.

Walking Tour

After seeing the city from above, we will walk back through Antigua’s beautiful streets and visit the most famous and significant places in Antigua, including churches, ruins, monuments, the local market, the central park and more. Important highlights include the well-known church La Merced and the Arco de Santa Catalina. During the tour our guide will tell you much more about the rich history and culture of Antigua and its beautiful buildings as well as what life is like here for locals nowadays.

Please make sure to wear closed-toed comfortable shoes, bring water or a refillable bottle and be prepared with sun protection (sunscreen, hat). In rainy season you should bring an umbrella or raincoat.

social business tour operator offering off-the-beaten-path excursions with an impact. We offer unique and sustainable experiences in the areas surrounding Antigua and nationwide in Guatemala that give back to the communities we visit. we believe in creating a positive impact with everything we do. 100% net profit of all services booked with us is donated directly to Niños de Guatemala, an NGO providing education and empowerment to ~500 children who would otherwise not have access to it, to break the cycle of poverty and contribute to a better future for Guatemala. We offer unique and memorable experiences that collaborate with the communities we visit and support the local economy by partnering with local guides, providers, and artisans.

We loved everything about our journey with Ninos de Guatemala. The experiences, attention to detail and genuine desire to ensure everything was perfect was admirable. NDG is a social tourism business which made us feel ever better about booking with them, knowing some of our tourism $'s was going to support local kids education! AMAZING. Can't wait to go back.

The Pacaya hike was the highlight of the trip for our boys. It was truly and amazing and unique experience. Our tour guide Tania was spectacular and extremely helpful. Having her as our guide on multiple tours with Ninos de Guatemala, we can say for sure that she made our entire trip more enjoyable. So glad we got to see Pacaya up close and meet wonderful people like Tania.

This was an amazing experience with Rosa and her family. We had such a great time and it's definitely something we will never forget. Also, our tour guide Tania Salazar was incredible. We cannot say enough good things about her. She connected with each member of our family and was so helpful. When we come back we will be asking for Tania again.
