ASA 104: Bareboat Cruising

Get bareboat charter certified on a learning vacation! 

Limited to 4 students, 2 minimum

*Prerequisite: ASA 101 & 103

You'll spend a weekend living the cruising life in beautiful Resurrection Bay and Kenai Fjords National Park while you learn to sail!   Freshen up on cruising sailing terminology, sailboat parts and functions, helm commands, sail trim, points of sail, buoyage, basic boat systems, auxiliary engine operation, docking procedures, navigation rules, basic coastal navigation, anchoring, weather, safety and seamanship.  Learn about provisioning, boat systems, auxiliary engines, advanced sail trim, coastal navigation, anchoring / mooring, docking, emergency operations, weather, and more. 

Schedule

• Day 1: 9:30am, provisioning, locate safety gear, and departure around noon

• Day 2: Cruising, anchoring, and chasing wildlife

• Day 3: Take ASA 104 written exam. Return by 4pm

Students provision for and cook some meals. Meals are shared with the group and instructor.
