Departing from Guatemala city at 4:00 am and travel to Lake Atitlan it is a 3 hours car ride, time might change due trafic or any other stop en route. Upon arrival to Lake atitlan you will travel by boat to Santiago Atitlan. Upon arrival to town we take a land transportation to our birding spot. There will be a cool hike/walk until you reach our birding hot spot, the hike is easy to moderated. The cloud forest is a fantastic spot for birding where we can see different species of birds such as regional-endemic, residents, and migrant birds included our Guatemala National bird. 

Our main target birds are: Resplendent Quetzal, Azure-rumped Tanager, Emerald-chinned hummingbird, Northern-emerald Toucanet. 

After birding you will return to town where you can eat lunch or relax prior return to Guatemala City. 

Please note:  We do our best to spot the Quetzal bird with our birders specialists, still there is no 100% guarantee to see it as usually depends on weather condition and other factors. Our possibilities to see it is an 95% - only on the existing dates available in our calendar.
