Highly recommend Voltan for birding in the Atitlan region. They were great in setting up custom made logistics for a very early am pick up in San Marcos. We met our guide in Santa Cruz and were immediately impressed by his warmth, enthusiasm, and perfect English. Isaisas is an excellent, knowledgable birder who brought a great scope and tripod to enhance our experience. He is patient and organized. The trail was lovely along the lake and we visited multiple zones for different species/experiences. His recommendation for post birding breakfast at Isla Verde was beyond wonderful. We couldn’t have had a better day! We were most impressed by Isaisas and Voltan. Highly recommend!

This was our second day of birding adventures with Voltan. We loved the first day so much we signed up for a different trip on the following day. The logistics arranged by Voltan were custom made for us and unfolded seamlessly. Isaisas was our guide both days. Not only was he extremely skilled and well equipped, he was such a lovely person to spend the day with! Patient, soft spoken w perfect English, his enthusiasm is infectious. He made great recommendations to enhance our trip in the Atitlan region. Among our top outings in Guatemala!

It was really windy, so a lot of options were off the table because of the rough conditions. But our guide, “Chai”, did a good job of identifying alternative activities for us, and we had a great time with him. As an extra bonus, we got to meet his wife and young son, who went with us on the final trek back to our hotel. Very fun day!

Juan Carlos was an excellent guide - we thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience with him. He went at a good pace, we never felt rushed and he took us to a lovely coffee shop in San Juan before our hike back to Santa Cruz. Thank you
