The primary professional objective of this journey is meaningful interaction and collaboration with a focus on music performance, discussions on band and choral classes in schools, and an exchange of knowledge with your counterparts and local musicians. Participants in this journey will enhance your understanding and appreciation of the culture and history Austria while learning about the rich heritage of their music traditions. Educational and musical highlights will include: exploring the delightful House of Music in Vienna, who work in cooperation with the local schools to awaken curiosity about music and encourage fun in making music as early as possible; behind the scenes visit of Vienna State Opera, the world's largest repertory operation; a private concert, performed by a talented young classical musician; and stop in St. Florian in route to Salzburg to see the Bruckner Organ at the monastery to meet with one of their organists to learn about the instrument, and maybe try it out yourself!
Follow in the footsteps of the Von Trapp family exploring Mirabell Gardens, Nonnberg Abbey, the gazebo at Hellbrunn Castle and Mondsee Basilica. Cultural and community explorations on this journey include city explorations of Vienna and Salzburg along with a visit to a farm, guided tour at the Mozart Haus in Vienna, where the legendary composer once lived and dinner in Vienna at a “Heurigen” (wine tavern) together with the local people.

ü As your journey will be during the summer, a visit to a local school will not be possible. However, opportunities will be found to interact in various settings with local musicians, educators, and local people.
- Explore behind the scenes at Vienna State Opera, the world's largest repertory operation to discover much that otherwise remains hidden from the evening operagoer.
- Indulge in the exquisite melodies of a private concert, performed by a talented young classical musician.
