The Baja peninsula is about 760 miles long from just south of San Diego, California, to Cabo San Lucas at the tip; one of the longest peninsulas in the world. It is a vast, often wild frontier, even today, in much of the area between the two points. We will be concentrating on the area around La Paz, the capital of Baja Sur, the southern State of the two on the peninsula, and where the desert meets the Sea...
We'll be staying at a beautiful hotel in my favorite neighborhood. From there, we'll explore the the city, nearby beaches where the locals go, one of the islands nearby, swimming with sea lions, exploring an old gold mining town, and glamping on a white sand beach that is a wind-surfer haven. We'll learn about the whales that frequent the Sea of Cortez, and the cowboys and pirates whose legacies still live on where the desert meets the sea.
