Course Description

Join us for an unforgettable journey through the captivating world of alligators and immerse yourself in the beauty of Florida’s wilderness. Meet with a zookeeper, participate in holding a live alligator, and experience animal encounters at Gatorama. We will learn about the keystone species and masters of the Florida Everglades - the American Alligators along with several other creatures that live in the diverse habitats of the marsh ecosystem. 

Pre-Study and Post-Study Included

Format - Choose from one of two programs: 

The Hatch and Hold Experience gives visitors the chance to hold an egg and help welcome a baby alligator into the world. This program includes the Premium Animal Encounters. (VERY LIMITED SPACES OPEN)

The Premium Animal Encounters Experience gives each visitor an opportunity to encounter a variety of animals such as the python and tortoise.

Program Format: Family - open to all ages 

Hatch and Hold Alligator Egg Hatching Experience

The Hatch and Hold experience gives visitors the chance to hold an egg and help welcome a baby alligator into the world. This program includes the Premium Animal Encounters

Alligator Hatching Festival Premium Egg Program Includes:

• Admission to Gatorama park

• Alligator feeding shows

• Private educational presentation with a  zookeeper and a live alligator experience

• Wildlife boardwalk and nature play area

• Premium Tortoise encounter experience

• Premium Python encounter experience

• One bag of Croc crunch to feed the alligators

• One Hatch and Hold Alligator Egg Hatching Experience

Tuition and Fees Schedule:

Ages 2 and Under: free

Students under 5 feet - $116

Students and Adults over 5 feet - $120

Premium Animal Encounters Experience 

The Premium Animal Encounters Experience gives each visitor an opportunity to encounter a variety of animals such as the python and tortoise.

Premium Animal Encounters Experience Includes:

• Admission to Gatorama park

• Alligator feeding show

• Educational presentation with a  zookeeper and a live alligator experience

• Wildlife boardwalk and nature play area

• Tortoise encounter experience

• Python encounter experience

• Croc crunch (food to feed the alligators)

Tuition and Fees Schedule:

Ages 2 and Under: free

Students under 5 feet   $69

Students over 5 feet     $78

Please Note: Height requirements for each package are STRICTLY enforced.

Tortoise Encounters with "Dozer"

Have you ever wanted to meet an animal that can live up to 150 years old? Gatorama is home to a couple of tortoises that we are sure have many, many stories to tell. In our Tortoise encounter our keepers will take you in their environment where you’ll learn about their history and even get to feed these gentle giants. As a beginner level adventure, it’s perfect for the whole family, even some of your more timid adventurers.

Python Encounters At Reptile Cove

Meet Bleu the Ball Python, in our Python Encounter. An invasive species, Pythons have been getting a lot of press lately. Learn about their habitat, their favorite meals and feel the power of these animals as we drape Bleu over your shoulders for an up close and personal approach to learning. Don’t forget your camera, you’ll definitely want to show friends and enjoy those bragging rights.

Uncle Wader's 'Catch a Gator Pond'

Climb into a pool of baby gators as our keeper guides you on the proper way to catch the little critters. They’re fast but with a little bit of training you too can be an expert wrangler. This is the perfect way for a family to enjoy some hands on wranglin’ here at Gatorama. Grab the whole crew, kick off your shoes, roll up your sleeves and get to work.

Not Included: 

• Travel to and from program, meals, lodging

*This program is PENDING approval as direct pay for Step-Up for Students in Florida and may qualify for other school voucher programs. All food, transportation, and hotel costs are paid for by the parent and not with scholarship funds. No refunds will be issued as per SUFS policy.              

All travelers under age 18 must be accompanied by a parent at all times.
