Paddle through the wild, winding channels of Magdalena Bay and experience one of the most exciting and unforgettable adventures you can live in Baja California Sur.
During this 9 day experience, you will have the opportunity of exploring the best of what the Sea or Cortés and the Pacific Ocean have to offer.
Our adventure begins in La Paz, where you'll have an up-close and personal encounter with the impressive marine megafauna of the Sea of Cortez, including sea lions and the majestic whale shark.
Afterwards, we will head to Magdalena Bay for a whale watching session, followed by a 5 day kayaking trip through mangrove channels and white sand dunes.
This adventure is in Fully Catered mode, with the support of a motorboat that will transport our gear and supplies, and the presence of a chef who will delight you with the island’s most exquisite dishes.

On this day, you will check in at the hotel. You will have the chance to enjoy the city of La Paz during the day. In the evening, we will meet in the hotel lobby with your guide(s) to answer any questions you may have and prepare for the next day.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will pick you up, make a quick stop in the office to gear up and then head to Playa El Pichilingue, where we will board the motorboat (panga) to cross to the Espíritu Santo Archipelago National Park. We will visit La Lobera, a rock formation that is home to over 400 sea lions.
You will have the chance to snorkel with these magnificent animals, and the pups will likely come over to swim and play with us. Before returning to La Paz, we will enjoy lunch on one of Espíritu Santo’s beaches. Finally, we will return to La Paz for a shower and dinner at a local restaurant.
Just like the previous day, we will pick you up at the hotel to head out for a unique experience: swimming with the whale shark, the gentle giant of the oceans that feeds exclusively on plankton. Upon returning to La Paz, you’ll have the chance to shower at our office before enjoying lunch. Then, we’ll cross the Baja California Sur desert by car to reach the picturesque fishing village of Adolfo López Mateos,
where we will stay overnight and enjoy a traditional dinner.
This day will start with a new adventure, spotting the majestic gray whale. We will board the panga to navigate the Pacific waters, and the chances of seeing these giant creatures approach our boat are high. It is said that seeing a whale leap is good luck!
Afterwards, we will head to our first campsite in the dunes of Isla Magdalena.
On this day, we will finally get on the kayaks and start paddling south along the island’s coastline. If we’re lucky, we may see young whales training against the current, preparing for their incredible 10,000 km migration north to their summer home in the Bering Sea. We can also explore the island on foot in search of the perfect spot to watch the sunset over the Pacific.
We will paddle through the narrow Curva del Diablo, one of the most exciting routes of the expedition. Then, we’ll enter a labyrinth of mangroves, an incredible and lively ecosystem that is home to a variety of marine species and birds, making it an ideal natural paradise to explore by kayak.
We will continue paddling through the channel and reach our final and most spectacular campsite, where the sand dunes seem endless, and in the distance, the mountains of Cabo San Lázaro can be seen. This is the perfect spot to spend the last night, enjoy a starry sky, a good dinner, and the famous ‘Happy Hour.’
On our last day, we will paddle around the final point of the island and head towards Puerto San Carlos, where Bahia Magdalena meets the Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival, a delicious lunch will be waiting for us at a local restaurant to recharge our energy before returning to La Paz, where we will finally be able to shower at our hotel. In the evening, we will meet for a final dinner with the whole group and guides, where we will be sharing stories and saying goodbye properly with a toast.
Breakfast at the hotel. See you on your next adventure!
