Explore beyond where those 'land yachts' can take you!  Get out on the water in Resurrection Bay, and enjoy the ideal winds we get in the Summer months!  The wind is typically from the North and very light until around noon, when it switches to a South wind, picking up to 10-20 knots.  In a day sail, you could get out toward Fox Island, enjoy views of Bear Glacier in Kenai Fjords National Park, or let the whales decide where you'll go! Since the sun hardly sleeps, make it a full day--anchor and enjoy great hikes, amazing views, waterfalls, and wildlife! 

(Boat rental) *for experienced sailors only. Skipper must demonstrate ability to sail and maneuver boat before leaving the harbor. S/V Encore is a Hunter 28.5. See "Our Fleet"  page for boat specs.  General check-in and check-out is 10:30am-6pm, but we are flexible when possible. 

Are you Qualified to Bareboat Charter?

Sailing Requirements:

• There are no formal certifications required to sail in Alaska. However, we have sailing requirements in order to bareboat charter and meet our insurance guidelines.
• Send us your Sailing Resume or fill out our sailing resume--found on our webpage or in links during booking.
• If no one in your party is experienced, charter with a captain.

QUALIFICATIONS (Must have one of the following):

• USA – US Sailing “Bareboat Cruising Course”, ASA “104 Bareboat Cruising Course”
• UK - RYA "Day Skipper Course"
• NauticEd SLC (International Sailing License and Credentials), International Documented equivalent experience or sea time on sailing vessels with two or more references
