I just returned from this workshop with David. It was first class in every aspect. David is highly organized, communicates well and has a wealth of knowledge about the area and the wildlife. He was always happy to answer photography questions or talk in detail about the area, the bears or other wildlife. The food and accommodations were great considering we were in the backcountry. I've done many workshops with a variety of leaders and David is top notch. Highly recommended.

Absolutely exceeded any expectations I had going into this trip! Dave was wonderful - the group experience is always fun! Our group shared lots of laughs! Alaska, bears, eagles, puffins, otters, coastal bears - Dramatic weather all with a kind, compassionate, strong and knowledgeable leader guide! I’ll definitely be back to do another one of Dave’s groups! Alaska is a wonderful place and this was an experience that has expanded me in unforeseen ways - The food was good too!

I tacked on this trip after doing the Mountains, Glaciers, etc trip david offers. This was a very special trip to remote areas and, despite Alaska's typically variable weather, we managed to achieve a wonderful itinerary thanks to David's great organising skills. Hikes were chosen not only to provide special experiences but to suit our level of fitness. The particpants gelled well and we had a wonderful time. The restaurants David chose were mostly outstanding. I appreciated that David was able to accommodate my wheat-free diet including snacks. His knowledge of flora and fauna, and of Alaska itself was excellent. I would have confidence in signing up for my 3rd trip with him no matter where he took us. He is so well travelled across the world.
