Wonderful immersion into jungle life. I did this trip with my father and it was wildly beautiful to share this experience with him. Everything was well organized - experienced guides, delicious food, and varied excursions. Muchas gracias!!!

What an exciting trip and one that I had been contemplating years and years to take (finally glad I did it!).. Marcos was our guide and we were super lucky to have him. He brought an incredible amount of expertise (especially on our night walks) when we went herping. The food was phenomenal, the sleeping accommodations exceptionally cozy for the Peruvian amazon, and the lodge staff equally wonderful including Jesus who was always willing to have in-depth conversations about Tamandua's purpose/mission. It felt like my home away from home. We participated in all sorts of activities including star gazing, boat rides, fishing, kayaking, tree climbing, seminars with jungle keeper rangers, long hikes, swamp exploration, creek exploration, campfires, and the list goes on. Our group had a really incredible energy to it. Marcos was fantastic and I am looking forward to booking another trip with him as our guide. Willian was also our local guide and he was just equally as fantastic. This is the perfect trip for those looking to get a sophisticated understanding of the important work of jungle keepers and for those looking to break the ice on an expedition level trip. Highly recommend it for all those interested. The hotel accommodations they provide pre and post trip were also amazing (private rooms with A/C - an excellent gift for the end of the trip). Can't wait to see you next time, Tamandua!

honestly I was disappointed, as I saw not a single anaconda, an animal that the tour was named after. Maybe I had wrong expectations. I flew from Europe and saw the great Galapagos, which ended up being the trip highlight. Your website gave me different expectations. The guide: Amazing The group: Great The sleeping arrangement: really not great, no power, no fan Food: was hard being pescatarian, I think the guide was aware (so I might have put that down during registration, don't remember) I spend over $12K on the whole trip, no anaconda. You understand my disappointment maybe. Feedback that the guide collected from us and probably shared with you: - the region might not be optimal with all the illegal gold mining and mercury pollution nearby - the trip was during full moon, which I think anacondas are not affected by, but maybe their food sources, not sure on this one. maybe we just had bad luck, we sure had the best guide (Matt) + the local guide from the place we stayed at, they were very knowledge and they tried really hard. Seeing other wildlife was great, catching cayman, fishing piranhas - amazing of course. Would be good if you gave options to rate e.g. food, guide, accommodation etc. from scale 1 - 10 like on booking.com so others know how the rating came along. Maybe you can get me on another trip. Again, Matt the guide was a blast and we all learned so much. You should use him again if you can. One more thing I just remembered: A drone should be mandatory. A lot of time could have been saved searching the basking areas. Either the guide brings one or the accommodation has one for use. Still I had a good time, as you can see in this video: https://youtu.be/XAcFabzWZSA Alex

Thank you so much for your detailed and thoughtful feedback, Alex! We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. First, we're thrilled to hear Matt made such a positive impact on your trip - he truly is exceptional, and we'll make sure he knows how much his expertise meant to you and your group. The local guides are indeed incredibly knowledgeable, and we're glad they enhanced your experience. You're absolutely right about the full moon timing - this was an oversight on our part. While anacondas aren't directly affected, their prey activity can be influenced, potentially affecting sightings. We'll be more mindful of this for future trips. To clarify for future travelers reading this: our herping expeditions focus on the incredible diversity of reptiles and amphibians in this biodiverse region and are advertise as such. This particular area is chosen because it represents prime anaconda habitat - wetlands with ideal prey density and basking sites. However, as this is true wilderness (not a controlled environment), and while we have had many guest encountering the majestic anaconda in the very spot, we cannot guarantee specific wildlife sightings. The adventure lies in exploring genuine wild habitats where encounters are subject to nature's unpredictability. We understand the disappointment of not seeing an anaconda after traveling from Europe. While we can't guarantee specific species in wild settings, we'd love to help you experience more of what the Amazon offers on a future adventure. Thank you for sharing your video. Your feedback about dietary accommodations and other concerns is noted and will help us improve. Best regards, Tamandua Expeditions Team

Insane experience. Matt is the best - give him a raise. I wish there were more chances to catch caiman. Also, more time spent on anaconda search. I especially appreciate Matt’s, Boriam’s, and Ramses’ time management - very productive. If we agreed to head out at 7, they were ready at 7. Things that need to be improved: • You should check for moon phase. Our trip dates were during a full moon, so the herping was much more difficult — avoid those days in the future. • Add a flashlight, polarised sunglasses, water filter/chemicals, and gloves (for swamp search) to the list. • Remove the two towels from the list; Malinowski Lodge provided us with towels. • Equip the guide with a drone. • Provide leaflets to each member with photos of the animals we are looking for. Mosquito nets should be used to cover the beds instead of cotton sheets

This was quite an experience. Had the chance to observe and "absorb" the amazonian rain forest, in ways I never thought I would. My son and I were lucky enough to have an amazing group of people with us. The staff is great - very kind and always willing to share their knowledge. The food was good; the conditions were better than I expected and I highly recommend this to everyone, especially those who care for the wildlife and the jungle.

Went on the Operation Malinowski herping trip with Ian and William in March 2024. It was an amazing experience! They were both super knowledgeable and skilled at finding and handling the reptiles and amphibians that we found. I always felt safe, while still being able to admire the amazing animals that we found. Plus the accommodations were great, and food was amazing. Would definitely recommend the opportunity to enjoy the amazing ecosystem while supporting a great company!
