Welcome the incredibly diverse and beautiful country of Belize, where the jungle meets the Caribbean Sea. Transfer from Belize City to the tropical Placencia Penninsula.
Settle into our home for the week, a boutique resort featuring spacious treehouses just steps from the sea, surrounded by lush plants and tropical flowers. Spend time strolling the beach or taking a dip in the pool before we head into the town of Placencia for a magical welcome dinner, where we’ll get to know our new friends.
Meals: Dinner
After a beautiful seaside breakfast, we will head out for an adventure. A boat will take us down the flourishing Monkey River. As we make our way through mangrove estuaries, keep your eyes peeled for manatee, crocodiles and tropical birds. We will then take a short hike into the jungle to look for monkeys and learn about jungle vegetation before enjoying a very local lunch in the village. Our evening is going to be so special! Our local host who grew up in Belize will introduce us to all the local dishes, drinks and restaurants in the colorful town of Placencia on a super fun and informative walking food tour.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After breakfast we will head out for an absolutely magical day. A boat will take us to the 12-acre private island of Moho Caye where pristine beaches, crystal clear water and vibrant coral reefs await us. We will spend the day swimming, sunning and snorkeling. We will also have a special beachfront lunch cooked by our local guide. This is quintessential island life!
Enjoy some free time after our island day to take a siesta in a hammock, sit by the pool, walk the beach or head into colorful Placencia. We will organize an optional dinner for all of our new friends.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Breakfast by the ocean before we depart for a full day of adventures in the lesser visited Southern part of the country, the jungle region of Toledo. Here we ’ll visit a Mayan cacao farm, learning cultivation and seeing how chocolate is made using heirloom tools. After a chocolate tasting, the “Chocolate Queen” will prepare us a farm to table lunch.
Next up, we ’ll visit a working spice farm and botanical garden tucked into the rainforest. Walk jungle paths lined with vanilla and spices as we explore the grounds and hear the story behind this beautiful farm.
Return for a relaxing evening at the resort.
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Early breakfast to go as we embark on a full day adventure to the Western part of Belize. After a fun shopping stop along the way, our travels will bring us close to San Ignacio. Here we’ll have the very unique experience of crossing the Mopan River by hand-cranked ferry to reach the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich. We’ll climb ancient temples and take in sweeping jungle views. Keep your eyes open for monkeys and giant iguanas in this mystical place.
After lunch, our group will head to a very off the beaten path coffee farm run by a Mayan family. Here we will learn about their traditional ways of living and growing coffee and we will have a hands on demonstration of how to grind coffee the way it has been done for centuries. This experience is more special than words can describe.
After a long day, coming back to the relaxing resort will be the perfect way to end the evening!

Enjoy a final ocean view breakfast before savoring a relaxing morning. Kayak, read, paddle board, swim or walk the beach.
