Fabulous trip, great group, expert leader and a wonderful combination of birding and cultural experiences.

It was a wonderful trip. Accommodations were great, we saw a good variety of landscapes and the birding experience was terrific. The leaders did a great job at exposing us to the culture, people, food and habitat. I loved it so much and it was a trip to be remembered.

Extraordinarily fun and educational trip! This was my second week-long adventure with IndiGo Birding, and it certainly will not be my last! Starting off in Old San Juan with a delicious food tour and delightful guide, followed the next day with a delicious breakfast at our bed and breakfast, followed up by an insightful history and walking tour with another local guide passionate about their home. What a lovely way to dive head first and immerse in the culture of Puerto Rico! We spotted a few birds throughout the city, but the real birding adventures began when our local guide picked us up on day two, and we launched into our trek across the island to spot all 19 endemics to PR. By the end of the week, we'd done just that! And ate tons of yummy local delicacies at many local restaurants your typical tourist would likely not know to stop and enjoy. Both our IndiGo Birding guide, David, and our local guide, Julio, were down-to-earth, knowledgeable, and clearly committed to providing a most excellent experience. I would 100% go on this trip again someday. Highly recommend!

The cottages were great and an excellent group made it a lot of fun! A bit more downtime than I'm used to on birding trips, but given weather/birds, it was actually pleasant change and I don't think we missed any good birds because of it. There were a couple spots that some prior scouting would have been useful (eg: Hillman Marsh and Cedar Creek), but overall I really enjoyed exploring Pt Pelee and I appreciated David's insights into identifying those tough fall warblers and hints for IDing raptors. Although the cottages were very nice, the single supplement was really steep and I'd recommend if this trip is repeated in the future, exploring ways to reduce this (eg: cottage that has more 2 bed/room options or perhaps renting 1 cottage and giving singles the option to stay at a nearby hotel....acknowledging this would create some logistical challenges given limited hotels in the area). One other suggestion would be to be more up-front in description on how transport would work (eg: if you drive separately, be prepared to drive during the tour as well). Having breakfast and lunches via grocery run was a great way to help keep costs down and worked out really well with each cottage sharing the food. Restaurant choices for dinner were all great!
