I really enjoyed this trip to Costa Rica. We saw so many amazing birds, but it was more than just a birding trip. I really appreciated the tours where we meet people living in Costa Rica and learned more about them and their country. I felt safe traveling on our small bus as we circled the interior part of the country. We had terrific local guides on our birding hikes and boat rides. We participated in two cooking classes, a chocolate tour, hiked through a rainforest, traversed across hanging bridges in Mistico Park and visited a diversified farm as well. The food was excellent! The accommodations were great! I would definitely take another trip like this again! I am so thankful I was able to attend this trip and make some new friends on this trip. Thanks to Lali and David for creating a very interactive itinerary!

This was one of the best trips I have ever taken. I am a novice birder but the guides made every effort to expand my birding horizons, always taking the time necessary to provide full enjoyment of each bird sighting. Our whole group, including guests and tour leaders became an enthusiastic family during our time together. Each of our accommodations was special and I have a hard time deciding on a favorite. The lodge at Cano Negro might hold a slight lead because of its location and myriad of birds.

This was an extraordinary trip. David is very sensitive to the needs and desires of his guests, so the pace seemed right for everyone in our varied group. We saw lots of wonderful birds (the trip list was 330 plus), but we also took plenty of time to make sure that everyone had really good looks. David's local partner, Juan Diego Vargas, was amazing. He is incredibly quick at identification, but also enjoyed teaching us the natural history of the birds and their evolution. And, we stayed at comfortable hotels and ate lovely meals. Finally, the group gelled easily, which is partly a tribute to David's own personality. I would recommend this trip to anyone!

I travel a fair amount, both internationally and nationally and this trip ranks right up with the best I’ve taken. David, Juan Diego and Ricardo led the trip and the group was a mix of absolutely delightful people. We saw/heard a vast variety of habitats and birds (300+ birds) and stayed in spectacularly beautiful places.
