Come along on a journey to the stunning country of Belize, where you can indulge in the ideal blend of excitement and serenity. We are excited to share that our new Adventure Officer, David, will be accompanying us on this trip. David is an expert in breathwork and mindfulness and a passionate traveler in his own right. Additionally, he happens to be the younger sibling of our Chief Adventure Officer, Sonya Lowery, and he is eager to become a part of the World Next Door family!

Belize became famous for its Blue Hole, the world’s largest ocean sinkhole. It also holds the second largest reef in the world, after the Great Barrier Reef. December is the perfect month to visit Belize! Likelihood of rainfall is very low, the skies are clear, and the weather is warm, making it one of the most desirable months for tourists to visit.

Belize borders Guatemala, Mexico, and Honduras and has over 230 miles of coastline and hundreds of cayes (pronounced "keys"). During free time on our trip, you may wish to take excursions to other cayes which will require a boat ride or a short flight, depending on where you'd like to go. Our resort is located on Ambergris Caye, one of the most popular islands off the mainland.

Since this trip will allot ample time to rest, relax, and recharge, we have selected a luxury resort with comfortable amenities - seven nights at the 4.5 star Alaia Belize Autograph Collection. It is an oceanside resort, so you will have easy access to the beach with plenty of time to enjoy old friends and new, or set aside some time for personal reflection and self-discovery.

2nd installment - 50% refundable if cancelled on or before April 30, Nonrefundable after May 1 

3rd installment - 50% refundable if cancelled on or before May 30. Nonrefundable after June 1 

4th & 5th installment - 50% refundable if cancelled on or before July 30. Nonrefundable after July 31

Depart Washington for an afternoon arrival in Belize. Check into the lovely Alaia Belize resort, where upscale amenities meet laidback locally inspired Caribbean living. You will have exclusive access to a wine club, spa, six restaurants, four bars, and three pools, including Belize’s first-ever suspended rooftop pool and lounge. Located in historic San Pedro, you'll have easy access to town via golf cart to immerse yourself in the local culture. Alaia Belize sits on 1,000 feet of Mar de Tumbo beach, just 600 yards from the Belize Barrier Reef Reserve and on-site excursions shop. Enjoy the World Next Door Welcome Dinner at local restaurant. Want to extend the evening? Join other resort guests for a "Cuban Night" after-party at the resort, 9 - midnight. 

After breakfast, enjoy your full day excursion to Hol Chan Marine Reserve, Shark Ray Alley, and Caye Caulker. Includes Lunch.

Start your day off right with a rejuvenating and inspiring experience led by our expert breathwork yogi, David. Join him before breakfast for a transformative mindful session that will leave you feeling refreshed, energized and centered. Lunch & Dinner on your own.  

After breakfast, you have a full day of exploration! We'll embark on a journey around mesmerizing Ambergris Caye! Our mode of transportation? A golf cart, of course! As we make our way around the island, we'll be dazzled by the diverse selection of bars and restaurants that pepper the main road.

We'll also explore some of the island's hidden gems, including the serene and secluded Secret Beach, and take in the sights and sounds of San Pedro town with a few carefully selected stops along the way. 

And when it comes time to refuel, we'll make a pitstop at the trendy Truck Stop for dinner. This lively hotspot offers an array of mouthwatering dining options and is the perfect place to sit back, relax and soak up the electrifying atmosphere (meals not included).

Today is the perfect day to schedule those spa treatments with a day at leisure.

This afternoon, we'll gather for lunch that's perfect for a casual day out! We're serving up a mouthwatering BBQ feast, featuring a delectable array of Belizean and Jamaican dishes that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.

And the best part? You can come dressed in your swimsuit if you'd like! This is the perfect opportunity to kick back, relax and enjoy a scrumptious meal in a fun and laid-back atmosphere. Dinner on your own. 

After breakfast, explore the surrounding area at your own pace. You can choose to partake in one of the resorts optional excursions, or simply spend a day indulging in pure relaxation.

Whether you're feeling adventurous and want to explore the local sights and sounds, or prefer to take it easy and luxuriate in the serene atmosphere of the resort, the choice is entirely up to you. Lunch & Dinner on your own.

To cap off our wonderful time in Belize, we'll gather for a special farewell dinner at a fantastic local restaurant that's just a stone's throw away from the resort. 

Join us for an unforgettable evening of delicious cuisine, great company, and lively conversation as we bid farewell to this magical place. This is the perfect opportunity to reflect on the many memories we've made during our stay. Lunch on your own. 

We'll check out and prepare to bid adieu to this beautiful destination and head back to DCA. Our flight returns to DCA at 10pm!
