The Strasburg Railroad

 Welcome to America’s Oldest Operating Railroad. Travel directly through the heart of Pennsylvania Amish Country with a view of more than 2,500 acres of untouched farmland. Comfortably seated aboard an authentically restored passenger car, your group will embark on a 45-minute, fully narrated ride behind a real, operating steam locomotive. 

ELVIS The Musical

His singular name still evokes immediate recognition from people all over the world! This official Elvis Presley bio-musical takes a closer look at the rock star and cultural icon whose impact shaped the history of music and culture. ELVIS: THE MUSICAL spans from his childhood in Tupelo, Mississippi to his triumphant 1968 “Comeback Special” and his ascent to be “The King.” It features over 40 Elvis hits and iconic songs including, “All Shook Up,” “Heartbreak Hotel,” “Burning Love,” “Good Rockin’ Tonight,” “Hound Dog,” “Don’t Be Cruel,” “Jailhouse Rock,” “Are You Lonesome,” and “Blue Suede Shoes.” 

Longwood Gardens

 Longwood Gardens is one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States and consists of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows for our botanical enjoyment.

Philadelphia

Enjoy a fully narrated, educational, and enjoyable overview tour of the historic section of Philadelphia.  We’ll learn about the people and places that had  such an integral impact on our fight for independence and freedom.  Some of the historic landmarks in the historic mile include The Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, Benjamin Franklin’s grave site, and  more.  After our orientation tour of the area we will have ample FREE time to explore.  During this time Tour the U.S. Mint - The Mint offers tours of the Philadelphia facility, which covers the present state of coin manufacturing and the history of the Mint. Visitors learn about the craftsmanship required at all stages of the minting process, from the original designs and sculptures to the actual striking of the coins.  We will also have FREE Time for lunch on our own at the historic Bourse:  Founded in 1891 by George Bartol, The Bourse was the first in the world to house a stock exchange, maritime exchange, and grain-trading exchange simultaneously. Today, the historic space has been repurposed into an internationally inspired food hall with deep local roots.

Rates and itineraries shown here were in effect at the time of printing and no changes are anticipated; however, Best of Times Travel reserves the right to withdraw any tour or to make any rate changes, as necessary.  Prices are subject to change.  A deposit is always required to confirm a reservation. A Deposit of $150pp, plus insurance premium (if selected) is due upon registration to confirm your reservation.  Travel Insurance: We recommend your purchase of optional travel insurance.  This optional travel insurance is per person and the premium is based on the overall trip cost.  Travelers MUST purchase the plan at the time of initial deposit.  Coverage will not be in place unless your full Deposit is received.   Cancellation schedule and fees are in place regardless of cancellation reason (including, but not limited to, force majeure, health pandemics or government restrictions).  Travel Insurance Premium is also Non-Refundable regardless of cancellation reason.   Payment in full must be received by April 20th, 2023 or this may result in an automatic cancellation.   Please note:  All cancellations must be made in writing and sent to Best of Times Travel.  The date of cancellation is deemed to be the date received by Best of Times Travel.  Cancellation Charges for this programs are as follows:  Cancellations from date of booking until 4/20/2023 have no cancellation fee.   Cancellations from 4/21/2023 until 5/1/2023 will be assessed a cancellation fee $100. Cancellations from 5/2/2023 until 5/19/2023 will be assessed a cancellation fee of 75% of the total fare.  Cancellations after 5/19/2023 will receive no refund, 100% of the total fare.  Best of Times Travel is not responsible for any refunds over and above said amount.  Best of Times Travel reserves the right to issue any refunds, in whole or in part, in the form of future travel credit.

Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast before we begin our exploration of the Dutch Country.   Enjoy a Full Commentary Back Country Tour of the Farmlands of Lancaster Country.  See the life of the Amish from a whole different perspective as our tour director brings their traditions to life during this fabulous riding tour.  We will make a number of stops throughout the Dutch Country such as an Amish Bakery, Farm Stand, Winery, the Kitchen Kettle Shops in Intercourse, and more as time permits. Lunch will be on our own at the Kitchen Kettle Shops.  As an added Bonus enjoy a ride & tour on America’s Oldest Operating Railroad - The Strasburg Railroad.  Travel directly through the heart of Pennsylvania Amish Country with a view of more than 2,500 acres of untouched farmland. Comfortably seated aboard an authentically restored passenger car, your group will embark on a 45-minute, fully narrated ride behind a real, operating steam locomotive.  Later this afternoon we head to Millenium Sight and Sound Theatre for the outstanding, Biblically-based theatrical production of  “MOSES” - truly a sight and experience to behold. Included this evening is a magnificent Dinner at Hershey Farm Smorgasbord. (B, D)

Thursday June 22nd, 2023

Enjoy a Deluxe Continental Breakfast before we depart from the PA Dutch Country.  We end our tour in PA at the famous Longwood Gardens - one of the premier botanical gardens in the United States and consists of over 1,077 acres of gardens, woodlands, and meadows for our botanical enjoyment. We will have plenty of time to explore the Gardens in their spring glory along with time to get lunch on our own at the gardens cafe. (B)
