What to Expect
The Setting: Vietnam is known for its pristine beaches, dramatic landscapes, ecological reserves, and incredible cuisine. Together, we’ll journey from the French-influenced streets of Hanoi through mountain villages and scenic coastal routes, experiencing the country from many different perspectives.
A Group Of Travel Friends: Travelling alone can be intimidating and so the great thing about BGH trips is that you’ll be travelling with a group of Black women who will be experiencing every step of the journey with you. Come alone or with a friend - either way, by the end of the trip you’ll have joined a supportive community to stay in touch with, share experiences with, and to continue to explore the world together.
Expert Local Guidance: You will be accompanied throughout the trip by an experienced, English-speaking tour leader dedicated to taking the hassle out of your travels. They’ll be knowledgeable on local historical, cultural, and social traditions. In addition, a Black Girls Hike rep will attend the trip to be your BGH point of contact throughout.
The Pace: This is an active and immersive trip designed for travellers who enjoy adventure and variety. There's a lot to see in Vietnam and over 10 days, we’ll explore multiple regions across Vietnam, staying in five different accommodations and spending no more than two nights in one place. Expect an overnight cruise, a boat-to-flight travel day to Hue, and scenic road trips.
The Route: Hanoi ➔ Hoang Su Phi ➔ Hanoi ➔ Halong Bay Cruise ➔ Hue ➔ Hoi An
Accommodation: You will stay in hotels for 8 nights and on an overnight cruise for 1 night. Prices are based on sharing a twin room with another BGH guest. A private room is available for an extra £310.

You'll experience local food through a walking street food tour, a vegetarian meal at a historic nunnery, and tasty cuisine at local restaurants. Experience world-famous staples like banh mi and pho, alongside regional specialties. Dietary needs will be collected ahead of time.
