Drake Bay is a fantastic destination for birdwatching, with an incredible diversity of species found throughout the rainforest and surrounding ecosystems. Birding enthusiasts travel from around the world to experience the rich birdlife of the Osa Peninsula.

Join one of our experienced local birding guides, who know the area and its bird species exceptionally well. The tour lasts approximately 3 hours and can be enjoyed either early in the morning or in the late afternoon, when bird activity is often at its peak.

Depending on the season and conditions, you may spot tanagers, hummingbirds, scarlet macaws, toucans, manakins, hawks, flycatchers, honeycreepers, trogons, woodpeckers and many other species.

Your guide will be equipped with a high-powered spotting scope, allowing you to observe birds in remarkable detail and, with a little cooperation from the birds, capture some spectacular close-up photographs.

The experience is also a favorite among wildlife photographers, and your guide will be happy to help you find the best opportunities for photography along the way.
