We’ll pick you up directly at your hotel to begin our journey to Cajas National Park.
We’ll start early so we can enjoy the park’s tranquility and have the opportunity to observe its fascinating diversity of birds in a unique natural setting.
Laguna Llaviuco | A Paradise for Bird Lovers
We’ll begin our adventure headed to Cajas National Park, one of Ecuador’s most fascinating natural destinations and a prime spot for enjoying nature and birdwatching.
Our first stop will be the beautiful Llaviuco area, located at approximately 3,100 meters above sea level, where we’ll set out on a peaceful trail surrounded by a lush high-altitude montane forest.
As we walk, we’ll keep our senses alert to spot some of the incredible species that inhabit this ecosystem. With a little luck, we’ll be able to spot the Gray-breasted Andean Toucan, the Andean Guans, the Masked Trogon, and the Turquoise Jay, as well as colorful tanagers, waterfowl, and various species of hummingbirds.
Among the most striking species is the Violet-throated Metallura Hummingbird, a true jewel of the Andes that we’ll try to spot during our hike.
An experience where you’ll hike through forests, listen to birdsong, and discover the incredible biodiversity that makes Cajas a unique place.
Beyond Llaviuco | Discovering the Biodiversity of Cajas
After enjoying the magical surroundings of Llaviuco, we’ll continue our adventure to other areas of Cajas National Park, carefully selected by our naturalist guide based on the conditions of the day and the season.
Each area will allow us to discover new Andean landscapes and different opportunities for birdwatching. We’ll keep our senses alert to enjoy the diversity of species that inhabit these ecosystems and the breathtaking natural scenery that surrounds us.
