About your trip

Join a group of jolly hikers for a moderate/easish out and back hike up one of the Northern ridges of Blue Mountain. We'll start at 6 pm at this gps coordinate 46.83743, -114.14175 along forest rd 365.

The hike starts gradually uphill and continually makes its way uphill at about a 15% grade all the way to our destination, about 2.3 mi and 900 ft up (4.6 mi round trip). From there, we'll take in the sights and panoramic views, then return the same way we hiked up. We expect to be on the trail for about 3 hrs total for this one.

We will follow the route on this alltrails hike: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/montana/blue-mountain-lookout-trail

The goal is to take our time, take in nature, and relax on this short, yet sweet hike through the beautiful wilderness that surrounds Missoula!

Wear comfortable, layered hiking clothes that can be removed while climbing then worn while descending and hiking boots or shoes. Other recommended items include a hat, hiking poles and shell for unexpected rain/snow. Carry water, snacks or lunch, and bear spray. We'll have our Garmin satellite messenger for emergency use. Dogs are welcome provided they don't chase wildlife and aren't aggressive towards other dogs or people.

Look for the blue toyota 4runner at the trailhead!

You are not required to donate anything to your guide on this excursion, but if you wish to support the continuation of these excursions, feel free to donate to us on Venmo @ LukeHayduk.
