Six days island hopping through the Bocas del Toro archipelago, searching for the different color morphs of the strawberry poison frog scattered across the islands. Mornings and afternoons split between two islands each day, with general wildlife and birding along the way, and an optional snorkel session on the last afternoon.
5 nights lodging at one fixed base
Arrival. Arrive in Bocas del Toro at your own pace. Transfer from Costa Rica available at an additional cost. Check in at our base lodge and settle in for a welcome briefing in the evening.
Island Exploration. Head out by boat to one island in the morning to search for a local Oophaga pumilio morph, photographing wildlife and birds along the way. In the afternoon, we move to a second island for a different morph and more photography opportunities. Return to the lodge for dinner.
Day 2 — Island Exploration. Another full day exploring two more islands, morning and afternoon, in search of additional Oophaga pumilio morphs and the wildlife that shares their habitat.
Day 3 — Island Exploration. Continue the island-hopping rhythm, visiting two more locations across the archipelago to round out your morph sightings and photography.
Day 4 — Final Island Morning + Optional Snorkel. One last morning island visit for any remaining morphs and photo opportunities. In the afternoon, join an optional snorkeling excursion, or take free time to relax, edit photos, or explore the lodge grounds.
