On this tour, you can choose between two hiking experiences, depending on your preferences and the type of landscape you want to explore.

High Altitude Zone | 3,900 meters above sea level

We’ll venture into the spectacular landscape of Laguna Toreadora, surrounded by mountains and Andean páramo. We’ll take a moderately difficult hike around the lagoon or along the traditional García Moreno Trail.

Along the way, we’ll discover a small forest of Polylepis trees, known as the fascinating “paper trees” , and visit the Park’s Interpretation Center, where we’ll learn more about the biodiversity and geography of this incredible ecosystem.

Lower Zone | 3,100 meters above sea level

For those who prefer a more peaceful experience, we’ll head to the beautiful Llaviucu Lagoon. Here, we’ll enjoy a hike through the Andean Cloud Forest, surrounded by lush green landscapes and an atmosphere of complete tranquility.

This setting is ideal for enjoying nature and, with a little luck, spotting some of the Andean birds that inhabit the area.

Afternoon | Discovering the Charm of Cuenca

In the afternoon, we’ll immerse ourselves in the history and culture of Cuenca, exploring some of its most iconic sites. We’ll visit the traditional San Sebastián neighborhood, the Museum of Modern Art, the colorful Plaza de las Flores, and Calderón Park, surrounded by the impressive Old and New Cathedrals.

We’ll continue our tour through the Tomebamba River Gorge, a place where historic architecture meets modernity and the natural landscape.

To wrap up this experience, we’ll head to the Turi Lookout, where we’ll enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Cuenca.
