Dive right into the heart of Mexico City by exploring the historic Centro Histórico, where you'll experience the rich blend of pre-Hispanic and colonial influences in the city's architecture. Visit the charming Coyoacán neighborhood, home to Frida Kahlo's iconic Blue House, and soak in the lively atmosphere of the local market. Then, venture to the ancient city of Teotihuacán, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where you'll walk along the Avenue of the Dead and stand in awe of the majestic Pyramids of the Sun and Moon.
Continue your Mexican adventure with two days in the charming city of Guanajuato, the birthplace of renowned muralist Diego Rivera. You'll have a free day to explore Guanajuato at your own pace! Wander through the town’s many treasures—visit the Diego Rivera House Museum, tour the fascinating underground mining tunnels, explore the vibrant Mercado Hidalgo, or simply relax in a garden café and watch the world go by. For those intrigued, don’t miss a visit to the famous Mummy Museum for a unique glimpse into the city’s past.
After breakfast, embark on a journey to San Miguel de Allende (SMA), a picturesque mountain town renowned for its rich history and charm. The journey will first stop at City of Dolores de Hidalgo, known to be the birthplace of Mexico's Independence movement. You will then continue to SMA, known for its baroque Spanish architecture, thriving arts scene, and cultural festivals.
You'll have some free time to explore San Miguel de Allende on your last day before joining the group for a cooking class in a beautiful mansion, where you'll learn to prepare traditional Mexican cuisine.
