About your trip

Join us for fourteen nights and thirteen full days as we explore the explore the natural wonders of Patagonia.

The South American region of Patagonia is vast, covering almost 400,000 square miles, over 50% of the territory of Chile and Argentina. Instead of trying to see it all, our tour highlights three very different areas of Patagonia, giving travelers enough time in each to gain a true sense of the place and a deeper understanding of the diversity of this amazing landscape.

Starting in Santiago, Chile, we travel to the port city of Puerto Natales where we spend four nights. This is the gateway to the Torres del Paine National Park, known for its beautiful snow-covered peaks, glacial lakes, and stunning waterfalls. We explore the national park, taking in amazing vistas and enjoying some light hiking.

Next we travel to El Calafate, Argentina, located on the shore of the largest lake in ArgentinaLago Argentino. Using El Calafate as our base for four nights, we explore parts of the UNESCO listed Los Glaciares National Park and its famous Perito Moreno Glacier. While here, we enjoy a day-long cruise, getting to see several glaciers and icebergs up close while learning about the natural wonders of the region.

For the last leg of our trip, we fly to Ushuaia, Argentina, on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago. This is considered the gateway to Antarctica and the southernmost city in Argentina. Staying here for the last four nights, we will explore parts of Parque Nacional Tierra del Fuego National Park and Beagle Channel, taking in more majestic vistas and wonderful wildlife.

For those who want to extend their trip, Ushuaia is a great jumping off point for a variety of tour extensions such as a 4-night cruise to Cape Horn and through the Fjords of Tierra del Fuego or a 10-night cruise to Antarctica and back.

Those not adding a tour extension should plan their return trip home leaving from Ushuaia.

All of our tours offer a wide variety of unique experiences while also providing chances for travelers to adjust the plans to match their desired speed and intensity.

Read the tour Itinerary summary below for more details.

WEATHER ~ November is spring in Patagonia – with wide-ranging weather. One often experiences four seasons in one day. We will be covering a lot of geography, so travelers should be prepared for a variety of conditions. Temperatures range from low 30s at night to upper 70s in daytime. Most of the trip should be sunny with fantastic weather; however, it is often very windy, and passing weather systems bring occasional rain and snow storms.

PHYSICAL EXERTION ~ High Exertion (4 of 5) – We do not consider this a trekking / hiking tour, but to fully appreciate all this tour has to offer, travelers should be prepared for long periods of walking and light hiking on uneven trails at altitude. This tour is not appropriate for those with mobility concerns. For those looking for more relaxation or moderation, less physically demanding options are available throughout the trip. There are also more strenuous hiking opportunities for those looking for a challenge.
