Depuis Louxor jusqu'à Abou Simbel, le rythme du voyage s'accorde à celui millénaire, du Nil. Alors Assouan, Philae, Kom Ombo, Edfou défilent comme autant de grandes étapes où le génie égyptien s'est fixé dans la pierre.

From Cairo, domestic flight to Luxor, then transfer to our boat and lunch there. 

Visit the temple of Luxor (formerly Thebes), with parts dating back more than 3000 years. Apart from the large pylon, we will see observe 2 large courtyards and a monumental colonnade as well as a large part of the original slabs. We then visit the temple of Karnak, dedicated to Amon, god of Thebes – the largest religious site in the world.

The Valley of the Kings – Temple of Hatshepsut - Colossi of Memnon

Breakfast on board, then visit to the west bank of the Nile: the Valley of the Kings and the temple of Pharaoh Hatshepsut and the colossi of Memnon then the Valley of the Kings and its mythical tombs – the first of which dates back around 3500 years .
Dinner on the boat and direction Esna and Edfu for the next day's visits.

Edfu and Kom Ombo temples

The day will begin with a visit to the Edfu temple dedicated to Horus – one of the best preserved in Egypt and which took more than 200 years to build. The temple is dedicated to the victory of Horus over the crocodile god. 

Then, head to Kom Ombo, or hills of gold. It is a unique temple because it is dedicated to two gods, Sobek and Horus. Built during the Ptolemaic period, it is located on the banks of the Nile and therefore constitutes a superb landscape.

The Aswan High Dam and the Philae Temple

The high dam is one of the most important achievements of the 20th century. It was built to mitigate annual floods and droughts and currently generates much of the energy consumed in Egypt.

Then, visit the temple of Philae, Isis, mother of Horus and companion of Osiris. The temple was moved (close to the old site anyway) in the 1960s to save it from flooding following the construction of the Aswan dam. It is the most important religious site dedicated to Isis, and one of the most beautiful in Egypt.

Aswan - Cairo

After breakfast, we leave the boat.
We will enjoy a Felouka ride in Aswan.
Transfer to Aswan airport and domestic flight to Cairo then transfer to the 5-star hotel.
Dinner.

Cairo

Breakfast at the hotel then direction the Pyramids of Giza which dates back around 4600 years and whose construction took around 15 to 30 years. Of course, we will see the Sphinx, carved from a promontory above the desert floor.

Lunch

National Museum of Egyptian Civilizations which presents a collection of 50,000 objects, representing Egyptian civilization from prehistory to the present day.

Return to the hotel.

Cairo

Visit the National Museum in Cairo – the ideal place to see mummies, and other royal objects but also for souvenirs and gifts. 

Visit to the Cairo Citadel. 

Then continue to the Khan el Khalili bazaar to browse displays of fabrics, crafts and antiques. Free dinner. Overnight in Cairo at the Semiramis Hotel, Intercontinental 5*.

Cairo

"Two decades ago, the monumental undertaking fell many years behind schedule with the Arab Spring uprisings and Covid-19. » This enterprise is the new Grand Egyptian Museum (GME) in Cairo which will have required “5,000 m2 of surface area, 12 exhibition rooms, 100,000 objects, a total cost which exceeds 1 billion euros. » 

This is where we will spend the morning so as not to miss anything of the immersive exhibition of Tutakhamon - a monumental showcase of the treasures of this pharaoh and a magnificent adventure which will plunge us into the heart of ancient Egypt. 

This will be the last activity of the trip before transfering to the airport and heading back home.
