On the CA Travelers Coffee & Gastronomic Bike Tour you  will be amazed with the great bike trails weaving their way through the  plantation between the coffee plants and shade trees. 

After biking among the plants we’ll head inside to the coffee museum  to  learn about Guatemalan coffee and to sample the different varieties  and blends of coffee. Learn  the whole coffee “deal” from picking the  bean to tasting a cup of coffee.

After being part of the coffee plantation experience, we will ride 10  minutes away to the Village of San Felipe de Jesus where you will visit  their famous handicrafts market, learn about their craft activities in  wood, clay and of course you will learn about the art of traditional  Guatemalan candies making . 

On the way back to Antigua we will make a quick stop to try some  fermented drinks ¨Fresco de Suchiles¨ the Guatemala Kombucha among other  beverages.

To end this amazing experience we will stop by the Antigua Brewing Company to taste the best Antigua crafted beers.

I had the most incredible experience hiking with Marvin on Acatenango! He is a great guide, genuinely cares about the group, would not leave anyone alone behind and also considered the best timing for us to hike to fuego to see the volcano eruption.

Tour Volcán Acatenango (2026)

We had a great time and we loved the views, although we recommend to follow-up the following points:

- We had a very large group, with 12 more people than planned. We were also not part of the list, which was confusing. Because of this we were much later on the campsite (1 hour+), which made the Fuego hike more difficult because we had to walk for a longer time in the darkness.
- There were only 2 guides who could speak English, and none of them were with us at the Fuego Hike
- We had a large group of 20 people who did the Fuego hike, with only a view guides. But for a long time we hiked just on our own, and we walked the wrong way for one time.
- Nobody of the staff knew how to use the oxygon, we were lucky that somebody of the group knew about it. This could have been dangerous. Also there was no oxygon meter, which is very unsafe. (Satiration meter)

The cabins and the provided food boxes were great, and well organised. I hope these feedback points helps you guys!



We had the best time! Marvin and the rest of our guides were great and made sure that everything was taken care of! We really appreciated all of the communication from CA throughout the entire process. Would recommend CA to anyone looking to hike Acatenango - an unforgettable experience!

I had a great trip with Atitrans via GuateGo, Guatemala City to Antigua. I was the only person on the bus after only paying for a shared bus. The driver was on time, very friendly, helpful and professional. He took me directly to my Airbnb, which was a nice surprise as expecting to be dropped off in the centre. Guate Go were also excellent. I could not select pick up from my Airbnb online. They organised it for me for no extra cost. I also left my phone power pack on the bus, GuateGo phoned Atitrans straight away and I was able to collect from Atitrans easily. I would highly recommend both companies. GuateGo answered the phone or my messages straight away and were so professional and helpful. Well done both and thank you.

Pacaya Volcano Tour

Totally recommend them! Such nice people, great organization and they provide everything you need for the Hike! Wilson was amazing!!!

My 11 year old and 9 year old had a great time making their own Jade creations. The kids and myself got to pick our jade pieces, design, cut, sand, and polish the pieces. They enjoyed the whole process. In we ended with two necklaces and one keychain. It was a highlight of our trip. This was 1 out of three tours we did with CA travelers and all were great.

This was a great experience! The driver and guides at the volcano were very kind and helpful! The experience of the volcano itself were incredible! There was very good communication with the travel company beforehand giving me good confidence leading up to the trip, and they definitely delivered with good, convenient service! 

I had a super time. The guides and porters were excellent. They were professional friendly and kind. It was a good route up to base camp (1100m ascent) A gradual even path with shade. I was not keen on my cabin as very cramped with bunkbeds. The ones without bunkbeds are much more spacious. Although I was very warm and comfortable in the bed, just claustrophobic, especially at altitude when difficult to breath.  The food was good. The walk up to Fuego was hard, but we had great views. Some days you are unlucky and it is cloudy and you don’t have views. Difficult walk back to base camp down the steep mountain. Only four in my group went up for sunrise on Acatenango summit the next morning as others too tired. Maybe it’s best just to do the sunrise and not Fuego. In retrospect I would have just done sunrise and others I spoke to agreed. Only three people did both. The view of Fuego from base camp is nearly as good as from Fuego, very little difference.  Company very good with communications and answering questions, on the phone WhatsApp or in person in the office . Misleading information about the price of a Porter. Website said 200 each way. No mention that it was more if your bag was heavier. It cost me 800 in total. They will soon change this on the website. Our main guide Selbin was excellent. I would recommend this company. Definitely a good idea to hire the metal poles, nearly impossible to do Fuego or maybe the summit without them.  My booking email said 2 people in a 4 person cabin.  On hike there were 3 of us in very cramped cabin with bunkbeds 2 females and 1 male - not expected.  Staff did not check this was ok with me.  Suggestion if a spare cabin ask if people would prefer own cabin than 3 in one, don't know if any spares.  Would be great to know all the elevations  - put info on website total elevations climbed for all options.  I have tried to google it but lots of conflicting info.  Very good staff to guide ratio.  Our group about 20 and 4 guides.  I struggled on Fuego and a guide stayed with me for all of hike back to base camp.  Advice if you need a wee don't delay.  I needed a wee on Fuego view area and waited until we came down to saddle (flat area).  I then felt very unwell as so thirsty.  I should have gone then I could have drunk the heavy water I had carried and needed. Our guide Selbin ( not sure of spelling) was excellent, kind, professional, helpful and fun.  Other guides and porters also very good, including female guide.   Thanks again CA for a wonderful time.  Please take note of my suggestions for an even better time.  Best wishes, Laura :) 

We really enjoyed this tour. The guide was knowledgeable and informative without overdoing it, and the trail itself was varied and genuinely interesting. The volcanic landscape made the hike feel very different from an ordinary nature walk. It was a memorable experience and well worth doing while in Guatemala.


The agency took care of each aspect of our trip! All the meals, the guides also the way we climbed the volcano. The cabins were pretty good and comfortable taking into account they were located near the volcano, awesome view too!

We had a mix feelings about the agency, we started the tour explanations with Fara the owner, she is very passionate and believes in what she does and wants to help the community and supports a school that is very good for the local kids. The organisation was basically good and we had a good experience, there are a few things that I don't agree, they provide a camell back that is good because reduces the plastic bottles but you have to carry on your front and is not something I would do when trekking. The food is good and quite abundant, I probably will have less quantity for lunch, and there are a few different options, I would offer the option of not having BBQ sauce for the chicken. We didn't use porters and I cannot comment on that but the local guides were very nice and as we speak Spanish it was very easy to communicate with them and have a chat about them and the community. The hike was very nice and we did the trip to the volcan del Fuego, and it's expectacular worthwhile going but it's a hard walking day as expected!! And at altitude. The next day we couldn't go to the top of the Acatenango volcán at 4 am due to the weather that I understand but after the weather got better, around 6am and we didn't go to the top that I regret because for me it was more important to get to the top than to see the sunrise ( I know that is only myopinion ) mountain huts are good and comfortable as they can be with extraordinary views to the volcan del Fuego.  We had mixed feelings about this agency. Fara, the owner, is passionate and supports a local school, which we appreciated.
Overall, we had a positive experience, though there are a few things we’d change. The provided CamelBak is a good idea but awkward to carry on the front. The food was good and plentiful, though lunch portions could be smaller and chicken without BBQ sauce would be a nice option.
We didn’t use the porter service, but the local guides were excellent—friendly, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to, especially since we speak Spanish.
The hike was fantastic, including the demanding but spectacular Volcán de Fuego trek. The only disappointment was missing the Acatenango summit due to weather, even though conditions improved later.
The huts were comfortable, and the views of Volcán de Fuego were incredible.
Overall, a good experience, but we’d likely compare other agencies next time, as small details added up.

Esperienza fantastica.
Il trekking al vulcano non é stato facile. Lungo, costantemente in salita. Ma arrivare al campo base é assolutamente possibile (lo dico da persona completamente fuori forma). Anche se ero la più lenta, non mi sono mai sentita lasciata indietro. Una guida é rimasta con me tutto il tempo necessario, spronandomi. Tutte le guide si sono fatte in 4 perché tutto andasse bene e ci divertissimo nonostante la fatica. 
Gruppo non molto numeroso, il che ¾ una molto positiva.
Cabina per dormire comoda e abbastanza calda (nonostante il gelo esterno). 
Cibo migliorabile a mio parere, ma per alcuni era molto buono, quindi va a gusti personali. 
Attenzione alla scalata a Fuego, io l'ho assolutamente sottovalutata e sono dovuta tornare indietro, le gambe non riuscivano più a muoversi e senza una delle guide (Gherson) non sarei mai riuscita a ritornare al campo. 
In generale consiglio assolutamente questa compagnia per l'attenzione al singolo individuo e ai dettagli. 




Fueron experiencias muy gratificantes, conocer Guatemala de manos de expertos y con un servicio excepcional. Gracias por todo!

We had a great time, the hike and the scenery were great! Guides were nice and hospitable. 

I can’t describe the amazing experience I had with CA travelers. It was extremely well organised and clear, the gear provided was excellent quality, the guides, including the amazing Toni and the local guides were extremely professional, made us feel very safe and made sure we had lots of fun! The lunch was delicious, the accommodation exceeded expectations. I can’t recommend this experience with CA travellers enough!

Tour guide was great - the group we traveled with was great. Everything was great. Hike up was a bit challenging with carrying gear so i'd recommend anyone not used to long hikes and incline to pay a porter to carry your bags. 

Did the coffee plantation bike tour with Diego, it was quite nice despite a little bit of rain. We biked to a plantation nearby, and a small town just outside Antigua. It was nice to get out of Antigua a bit and see the neighbouring area. Diego is knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and seem to truly enjoy his work. It was a fun time and definitely recommend the tour and also Diego as a guide of any tours.

Tour Volcan Acatenango Collective 4x4 (2026)

Marvin and his team  were excellent guides. The whole experience was seamless and stress free, everything was taken care of from equipment to food (good food). 

Even with spotty weather we still had fantastic views. The guides were very flexible regarding the hike to the Fuego volcano. 

Overall this was an excellent tour and was well worth the money paid.

Excelente agencia, la experiencia fue muy buena y el clima fue benéfico. Los guías muy agradables y el trato fue excelente. Algo del equipo que prestan para poder subir necesita mantenimiento o reemplazo, por lo demás todo bien.

Excellent service offered by the Guatemalan subcontractor. Drivers arrived early, were friendly and helpful, drove carefully. Communication by text was generally near immediate. When we twice left items in the van, they were returned to us.

I used this shuttle service from Antigua to San Pedro La Laguna and overall had a positive experience. The booking process was seamless and straightforward, and the shuttle itself was modern, clean, and equipped with air conditioning, which made the journey comfortable.

The only downside was the length of the trip. We spent about an hour driving around Antigua picking up other passengers before actually leaving the city, which made the journey feel much longer than expected. A more efficient pickup process would have improved the overall experience.

Despite that, the service was reliable and comfortable, and I would consider using it again.

Great time, wonderful people, food was good, the local guides were the most absolutely best people I’ve talked to! Would highly recommend. Now, my only issue is, the guide that was in charge of everything. She was not fluent in Spanish, and struggled with English a little. I personally speak fluent Spanish and the translations that she was giving to the rest of the hiking group weren’t too accurate. Which caused some uncertainty at times. Then when she would speak in English to the rest of the group, again some words would get lost in translation and not everyone would be on the same page. Another issue a couple of us had, was that many of us wanted to do certain things, or stay on the volcano a little longer, but since the main person Toni wanted to go back to camp we all HAD to go back even tho the local guides were okay with staying longer. Seemed a little bit authoritarian rather than a democracy, specially since we payed to go up. It was not free. 

The hardest thing I have ever done physically, it was not easy. I’m thankful for the group at CA Travelers, they were patient, friendly and supportive the entire way up and down. A special shoutout to Carlos, Jefferson and Selvin, I honestly don’t think I would’ve made it without them. Highly recommend CA Travelers for this experience.

We were guided by Gerson and, simply put, exceptional.

For the experience itself, we opted for both the private tour and private lodging package and it was fantastic. Gerson was attentive to my partner Lily whilst I inevitably fell behind in pace, he adapted seamlessly to ensure neither of us felt rushed or left behind. He struck that perfect balance of being professional, knowledgeable and genuinely good company throughout the hike.

What stood out - Gerson's attitude. Nothing was a burden, no question was too much trouble, and he constantly checked in to make sure we were comfortable, safe and enjoying the experience. As someone who enjoys a challenge but underestimated the climb, having a guide who could read the situation and adapt accordingly made a huge difference.

If you're considering Acatenango, I would strongly recommend the private tour option and requesting Gerson as your guide.

Truly an unforgettable experience and easily a top life memory and highlight of our time in Guatemala.

The tour was fantastic. Our guide was very very friendly and knowledgeable. We really appreciated how professional and fun everything was. Also, the marshmallows at the top were fun! A nice little adventure with wonderful views!

De positivo, assinalo o ótimo atendimento na loja pela fucionária Bianchi, e a gentileza do motorista Santis e do guia Cristóbal. As boas condições do veículo usado para nos levar ao alojamento é outro ponto importante de se registrar, pois trata-se de segurança. O equipamento oferecido para o passeio nos atendeu perfeitamente. Já a comida não foi consenso. Uns gostaram, outros não.
De negativo, as condições do alojamento no vulcão Acatenango. Um abertura em nosso alojamento deixava entrar o frio. Precisamos improvisar uma vedação. Poderiam construir banheiros melhores que aquela fossa seca horrível, absolutamente nojenta. Os donos da propriedade por onde passa a estrada de acesso ao alojamento poderiam investir na melhoria das condições da estrada, que tem trechos bons e outros péssimos. Lucram muito e oferecem pouco de retorno.
Já a experiência de ver um vulcão de perto é muito impressionante, maravilhosa, indescritível. 
Ao apontar o que nos incomodou, tenho o propósito de colaborar para tornar a experiência que vocês proporcionam mais agradável. The bike gastronomic tour with CA Travelers was incredible from start to finish. Diego was the perfect guide, showing great passion for the local food and culture while keeping the ride smooth and fun. Every food stop was outstanding and carefully selected. El tour gastronómico en bicicleta con CA Travelers fue increíble de principio a fin. Diego fue el guía perfecto, mostrando una gran pasión por la comida y la cultura local mientras hacía que el recorrido fuera fluido y divertido. Cada parada de comida fue excepcional y muy bien seleccionada. Es una experiencia imprescindible. ¡Saludos desde Colombia!

The best thing about this trip was the Volcano itself and the guides + crew of the hike. The Volcano is definitely once in a lifetime and the guides/crew are extremely helpful and well-coordinated amongst themselves, always keeping track of every trekker and their needs. The views from the base camp are magical, the accommodation (especially toilets) could be cleaner. 

However, the minus 2 stars are for the company management. 
First of all, scheduling is extremely important and they don’t have that right. Instead of briefing a day before (which is crucial), they brief you and organise all rentals etc in the morning. Informing trekkers they have to carry such thick liners, and their food for 2 days at the last minute compels them to get a porter. We should have all the information a day in advance of the trek so that we can pack and prepare accordingly. Secondly, if you start a hike at 12 p.m, after all the hassle, energy levels are already depleted. The hike should start much earlier so that we have time to acclimatise and rest to do the fuego hike. Many of us missed it because we arrived so late to base camp. 

Also, the food is appalling. You anyway have a hard time eating at such an altitude - the food at the bare minimum should be edible. 

Scheduling, briefing and food - 3 main areas to massively improve. 

Everything was perfect and I wouldn’t use anyone else for my travel needs in Central America 

Private Transportation Guatemala City / Airport

The way up was not easy for me, but the travel guide was so supportive - staying with me in the back and telling me to take breaks whenever I needed. The accommodations were really good with a great view of the volcano. I recommend getting one with just two beds, the cabins with bunks looked really tight. They provide a lot of equipment so you don't have to worry about bringing it with you for the rest of your trip. I really was stressed trying to pick the right tour to go with and I feel like I really chose right.

Los guías son muy amables y atentos y los pequeños detalles como la taza de chocolate caliente a la llegada, los masmelos en la fogata y el vaso de vino en la cena fueron muy apreciados.
Fué muy practico también el préstamo de ropa de invierno para quienes no llevaban. Aunque hay algunas prendas en mal estado, todas las personas pudieron estar protegidas del frío sin tener que llevar eso en sus maletas de viaje.
La comida fue básica y las porciones generosas. No recomiendo a todas las personas comer toda la porción de almuerzo a la subida, porque es una gran porción y a veces difícil de digerir durante un esfuerzo intenso (cada quien debe conocer sus límites). 
Es práctico también la forma que nos ofrecen de transportar el agua (en un morral con un tubo para beber fácilmente durante la actividad). Sin embargo, a mi nunca me ha gustado el sabor del agua dentro de estos sacos. Yo aportaría mi propia agua la próxima vez.
Las cabañas son confortables. Yo tenia una solamente para mi esposo y para mi, lo que apreciamos mucho. Sin embargo, no es una actividad para ir a dormir. Las explosiones del volcán son más visibles e impresionantes tarde en la noche y madrugada. Las personas aprovechan para compartir hasta tarde en la noche y algunos deciden levantarse temprano para ver el amanecer. El ruido de las personas se escucha desde las cabañas, pero hace parte de la actividad.
Nosotros teníamos una vista del volcán fuego desde la cabaña, aunque teníamos que sentarnos cerca de la puerta para verlo. Hay una terraza muy práctica para apreciar el paisaje.
Durante la actividad, hubo una persona que tuvo algunos problemas de salud (vómito, diarrea, fatiga), sobretodo al regreso. Yo sentí un poco el estrés que provocaba el retardo causado por ésta persona para llegar al punto de encuentro para tomar el transporte de regreso. No sé si teníamos una hora límite. También, creo que faltó un poco de logística para manejar la situación, como medicamentos generales para su caso, ayuda para transportar su maleta dado su estado y una forma de hidratación más adaptada también. Yo sé que cada persona debe conocer sus límites y llevar lo necesario, pero al contratar una empresa de acompañamiento para hacer la actividad, también esperamos que se adapten a casos como éste.
Yo recomiendo hacer esta actividad al 100%, sé que CA Travelers va a tener en cuenta nuestros comentarios para mejorar su servicio.

An unbelievable experience.Brillianty organised from food,travel,pre-tour info, kit provided, camp location and all overseen on the trip by the wonderful Marvin. I have absolutely no doubt I would not have completed the trek without his help, care and support. I'm mid 50's and I struggled- it's bloody hard work. The other guides left me at the back to struggle alone but the second Marvin heard this, he was right back with my every step of the way. It no longer mattered that I was slow and behind the group- it became a special and amazing experience. I don't have words for how epic it was to see Fuego erupting into the night sky and hearing and feeling the noise as it did so. Being able to watch an erupting volcano from your bed is something else. And then you watch the sunrise from the top of a volcano...just magical. For me it was a really hard slog but 100% worth it. Would I do it again? I'm not sure I physically could but if I did it would be with CA Travelers ( as long as Marvin was on the team that day) I booked with CA because they invest in the local community, and it was an excellent choice.

After being part of the coffee plantation experience, we will ride 10 &nbsp;minutes away to the Village of San Felipe de Jesus where you will visit &nbsp;their famous handicrafts market, learn about their craft activities in &nbsp;wood, clay and of course you will learn about the art of traditional &nbsp;Guatemalan candies making .&nbsp; 

On the way back to Antigua we will make a quick stop to try some &nbsp;fermented drinks ¨Fresco de Suchiles¨ the Guatemala Kombucha among other &nbsp;beverages. 

To end this amazing experience we will stop by the<a target='_blank' href="http://www.antiguabrewingco.com/welcome"> Antigua Brewing Company</a> to taste the best Antigua crafted beers.
