Terrible experience. No one had my name on a list, I was moved buses twice, the bus I ended up on was packed (over-booking was mentioned). We then had to change buses again in Coban to a bus that was also packed. Later in the journey they again moved people off the bus to another. All the messing around took extra time, it was very poorly organised. For a journey meant to take 6/7 hours it took 12. Guatemala’s shuttles cost more than accommodation, so they should be able to do better than this. Others I spoke to said worst experience for tourist transport in all of Central / South America.

Pick up was at time stated. Took longer than expected, as did all the other shuttles I booked, so expect the higher end of the window and then some. Thankfully not a full shuttle but it was an old mini bus so would’ve been awful had I had to sit next to someone.

Generally an ok trip and as pain free as such a long journey could be. It wasn’t a full bus so I had a bit of space. There was a couple of stops for breaks. Definitely plan for it taking 11-12 hours.

Booked this only two weeks in advance and was lucky to get a spot. The comms from CA was excellent — replies to email questions were speedy, as was confirmation of payment / booking. Information provided in advance was comprehensive, I particularly liked their digital brochure providing clarity. The only feedback on this is that it wasn’t clear I’d have to carry my own food, which would’ve been helpful to know as I took a small backpack which was full. Thankfully, I could attach the food bag to the front of my backpack due to suitable attachments. The trip itself was well paced, comms was very clear, and the guide Carlos managed the group well. As a strict vegetarian who has a serious meat intolerance, I was nervous about the food , but dinner was cooked separately in terms of separate pans / utensils. Food was basic but well thought out in the main and I didn’t get ill which is always a bonus for me. The cabins were basic but had been cleaned between use and even as a solo woman sharing, I had enough space and privacy due to a curtain separating. The company also took my request to only share with another woman. Point of improvement would be to designate one of the three toilets as women only — sadly there was urine all over the seats constantly as the seats can’t be lifted on the eco toilets. Using them was really unpleasant, I can cope with the hole in a ground but would rather a squat toilet than that. I took all my own gear, but they had everything if it was needed, plus option for porter, but I did it with 14kg on my back comfortably. This means waiting around a lot initially whilst everyone gets sorted, but can’t be helped. Overall, it was a great experience and I did all aspects of the trip, including Fuego and sunrise. I would recommend this company.

Nous avons adoré cette expérience: la montée aux deux volcans, la nuit (même courte), les rencontres que nous avons faites, ...! Les guides sont très compétents et le personnel au bureau très arrangeant. Nous étions un groupe de 29 personnes (à peine grand à notre goût) avec un niveau assez disparate, mais les guides se sont toujours assurés que tout le monde soit bien encadré. En tant que coeliaque, je suis très reconnaissante d'avoir eu l'option d'un repas sans gluten (avec mon allergie prise au sérieux). Le seul point négatif: on nous a donné une heure de rdv le matin pour la dernière montée à l'Acatenango. Toutes les personnes motivées à monter étaient présentes mais nous avons dû attendre 25 minutes les guide pour le départ. Quand on a dormi 2,5heures après une première journée relativement intense, ces 25 minutes de sommeil supplémentaires auraient été agréables.
