We had a great time! It was a though hike, but worth it. The accommodation on top of the mountain was very nice, cosy and pretty comfortable. We had plenty of food. It was nice that there was an opportunity to do additional hikes. We liked Marvin a lot, very friendly and kind. We would’ve liked some extra equipment at base camp, because one of our headlamps broke and the camelbag was leaking. The schedule was sometimes unclear for us. We would recommend CA to our friends!

Fantastic trip. Well organised all the way, and for a fair price. Even got saved by a guide, as I took the wrong turn on the way down. Hard trip, but worth all the money 😊😊

I was a solo traveler in Antigua, Guatemala. I needed a safe private driver to drive me to Guatemala City for an overnight stay before flying out. I was extremely nervous, but used ChatGPT to find a local travel agency with great reviews. It suggested CA travels the next day I walked to ca travels from my hotel and they didn’t disappoint. The driver was safe, the agent customer service was excellent and I arrived safe as a solo traveler. I tip the driver well as I was thankful to arrive at my destination safe without harm. It can be a little nerve wrecking being an adventurous woman, but when I come back to Antigua I will definitely use CA travels to arrange my itinerary. If you’re a woman and solo traveler don’t hesitate to use them…

It was a really nice experience!

We took the tour on 7/8/2026 When we were on bus to the volcano, we were told that climbing Fuego might not be possible, the first we had heard of this. After our hike up to base camp not much information was shared and we were told we were unable to climb Fuego. End of discussion. The next morning our group all woke up early, at 3am, to climb Acatenago and our tour leader said there was no point in going because it wasn’t clear and we wouldn’t be able to see anything. A few people argued this in our group and said they’d like to go anyway. This was quickly dismissed and we were all told we could not go. Some people proceeded to sneak out and two guides actually took them to hike, returning in time for breakfast the next morning even after leaving to hoke 40 minutes late. The path and the views from the top they said was crystal clear. On the descent, we met people who had climbed that very same day who said that they climbed both Fuego and Acatenago. With no problems. I wonder if our tour guide didn’t want to go. Or if some of are quite large group felt unwell and therefore they thought it would take too long? I am disappointed and most of all, still angry at how unfair this has been. When I recommend for people to go, it will certainly be with a different travel group. I feel we had been mislead and that I have missed out on an experience that I should have all due to the tour provider. - I’d give 5 stars to the porters and guides no fault of their own.
