Swati J. Shah, MD, MPH, FACOG, is a Fora Travel Advisor with EatMoveSeeTravels and founder of PlansConnect, where her Culinary Medicine Culture initiative explores the connections among food, culture, health, agriculture, and community. Her love of flowers, gardening, farm-to-table experiences, and experiential learning helped inspire this journey.
After visiting Colombia in 2025, Swati was captivated by its biodiversity, cuisine, people, and regional traditions. There, she met Juliana Medina, CEO of Impulse Travel, and connected with her commitment to showcasing the real Colombia while supporting local communities and small businesses.
Swati created this journey to invite travelers to experience Colombia beyond the guidebooks, using food as a window into its culture, history, land, and communities. Together, you’ll discover regional dishes and traditional beverages, meet local producers, visit markets and a coffee farm, and explore how food connects people and place, culminating at Cannúa Lodge, where sustainability, permaculture, nature, and Colombian hospitality come together.

HAB Hotel is a design-forward boutique hotel in Bogotá that we selected for its strong commitment to sustainability and its thoughtful approach to local food. The hotel’s farm-to-table breakfasts, featuring fresh, locally sourced ingredients, are a highlight and a great way for our travelers to experience Colombia’s food culture from the start of each day. Its warm, contemporary atmosphere also makes it a great fit for a leisure group looking for a more local and conscious stay.
Quinta Ladera is a charming boutique hotel in Medellín’s El Poblado, surrounded by greenery and tucked away in a quiet residential setting. We chose it for its intimate atmosphere, thoughtful design, and strong sense of place. It offers a more personal and relaxed way to experience Medellín, while being close to the city’s restaurants, galleries, and vibrant neighborhoods.
Cannúa Lodge is a secluded eco-luxury retreat nestled in the mountains of Antioquia, surrounded by forests, native vegetation, and expansive views of the Andes. Built with a strong commitment to sustainability and thoughtful architecture, Cannúa offers an immersive experience where nature is not simply the backdrop, but part of the stay. We chose it for travelers looking to slow down, reconnect with the landscape, and experience a different side of Antioquia through its food, nature, design, and sense of place.

The deposit is 100% refundable up to 3 months before the trip start date. After this date, the deposit becomes subject to the cancellation policy below.
The remaining balance must be paid no later than 2 months before the start date of the trip. Once the final payment deadline has passed, the applicable cancellation penalties will apply even if the trip has not yet started.
After the 3-month fully refundable period has passed, cancellations are subject to the following penalties, calculated on the total cost of the trip:
32+ days before the trip start date: 15% cancellation penalty.
22–31 days before the trip start date: 50% cancellation penalty.
11–21 days before the trip start date: 70% cancellation penalty.
0–10 days before the trip start date: 100% cancellation penalty.
The applicable penalty is determined according to the number of days between the date the cancellation is received and the scheduled start date of the trip.
If the trip is canceled due to force majeure, understood as a strict blockade in Colombia, natural disasters, or border closures that prevent the trip from operating, 50% of the total trip cost will be reimbursed.
The remaining 50% will be issued as a travel credit, valid for 12 months from the original trip start date. The credit may be used toward any future trip operated by Impulse Travel and is transferable to another traveler.
