Incredibly professional agency. These tours have been stood up to the quality I’ve experienced in my over two decades of working on high-end cruise lines. Our visit to Colombia was forever changed because of the tours that were provided through Impulse. Private tours were exceptionally orchestrated and tour guides were impeccable. Food provided was fantastic and the experience was far beyond my expectations. Also, if you book transportation through them, you’ll feel like a celebrity with the high-end vehicles that are provided.

All of the people we dealt with at Impulse Travel were excellent. Their knowledge, attention to detail,, communication and service were flawless and exceeded expectations. The drivers and guides that we had throughout the trip were also excellent. They were courteous and knowledgeable and met the time schedule to the minute. This helped us relax and enjoy the country and the activities planned for us. They provided a lot of information about the history, culture, geography, Flora, fauna , politics, etc. They were all proud of their country and we came away feeling well, grounded, and knowledgeable about Columbia and its people. We always felt safe and never worried about the driving or the activities we engaged in. We really enjoyed the itinerary put together for us and all the varied experiences. Most ( but not all) of the places where we stayed also met expectations. However, there were two hotels that we felt did not meet expectations. That being said the people at these hotels were always lovely, but the rooms, food and/or services were not of the same quality as the other others.

This was a day trip and the good: 1. Vey well orgnized - travel arrangements by exclusive 4 by 4, food was as per dietary requirements and very good, itinerary was also good. 2. Knowledgeable guide - Learned a lot - not only about the Chingaza park and Paramo but also about the larger ecology and topography, the re-introduction of the Andean Condor, Colombian history, the new constitution and how it gives community and individual rights etc. 3. Chingaza itself - Stunning location with a fascinating ecosystem! 4. Hike itself was not very strenuous even if it was quite cold and wet (a good think at an altitude of over 3200m!) 5. Saw some new bird species that I had not seen in other places. 6. They were able to put this day trip in place with a few days (quite short) notice. 7. The food was familiar and yet had enough new local options that made it a balance of discovery and know options. Could have been better: 1. A big goal for me was birding and that could have been better. The birds move through in multi-species flocks and therefore identifying them requires quite some expertise. That was the one thing that could have been better and perhaps they could have also managed the Observatorio De Colibries on the same trip given that I was looking for birds in particular. 2. Pricing for the trip to just Chingaza was a touch on the high side. Overall - Gave me wonderful information about Colombia, it's history, culture and ecology with a very knowledgeable and experienced guide.
