Join us in Colombia for eight nights and seven full days as we explore the art, culture, and natural beauty of Bogotá, Armenia, and Cali.
All of our tours offer a wide variety of unique experiences while also providing chances for travelers to adjust the plans to match their desired speed and intensity.
Read the tour Itinerary summary below for more details.
Throughout the trip we will have the opportunity to dine at a wide variety of extraordinary restaurants (from casual street food to fine dining). While the tour offers many unique scheduled experiences, its casual structure also provides daily opportunities for travelers to adjust the plans to match their interests and desired speed and intensity.
IDENTIFICATION ~ A passport valid for 6 months beyond the tour start date and that has at least 4 blank pages for entry/exit stamps is required.
ALTITUDE ~ Bogotá: 8,612 ft ~ Armenia: 4,865 ft ~ Cali: 3,327 ft
WEATHER ~ July is considered one of the best months to visit Colombia. Because of its altitude, Bogotá’s temperatures are fairly constant throughout the year, ranging from 66f daytime to 48f nighttime and very little chance of rain. Cali and Armenia are lower altitude and a little warmer with highs of about 87f and lows around 66f – still very pleasant!
TRANSPORTATION ~ We use various modes of transportation including small regional commercial planes, vans, and taxis. There will also be an opportunity for a leisurely horse ride in the hills.
PHYSICAL EXERTION ~ Moderately High Exertion (4 of 5) – Due to the altitude and the steep hills, we consider this tour more physically challenging than most of our tours. In order to be able to enjoy all the tour has to offer, tourists should be physically agile and be comfortable walking at a leisurely but constant pace at altitude for 15 minutes at a time. Irregular steps and uneven streets are common. There are opportunities for more strenuous hikes for those looking for more challenges.
The departure day of this tour adjoins the arrival day of the Colombia ~ Cartagena, Medellín tour (26-07-16-CO-MED), making it easy to combine the two trips. If you join both tours, we provide a flight from Cali to Cartagena and an extra night stay in Cartagena at no additional cost. Simply book both tours and we'll take care of combining the packages and reserving your extra night at the hotel.
Accommodations for 8 nights for one person in a double occupancy room (unless single occupancy upgrade is chosen).
Ground transportation between the airport in Bogotá (BOG) and hotel on scheduled arrival day and hotel in Cali to the airport (CLO) for return flight anytime on departure day.
All in-country city to city transportation (i.e. flight between Bogotá and Armenia and van rides between various other cities)
Transportation to and from all scheduled daily activities.
Entrance fees for all scheduled cultural sites, museums and special studio visits.
Two meals – 1st day lunch and last night dinner
Arrival and departure airports are DIFFERENT! Travelers are responsible for arranging and purchasing their own travel to arrive in Bogotá (BOG) and depart from Cali (CLO) on designated days.
Other than the meals noted, all other food and drink are the traveler's responsibility.
Any required governmental visas, or travel permits are the traveler's responsibility.

This was our second trip with Rene and Troy and it was just as delightful as our first last year. Just the right mix of scheduled and unscheduled activities and none of the "rushed, back in the van" that you sometimes get with others. It's quite apparent that these guys truly care about providing their client an excellent experience.
