LOVED the whole trip! Starting in Bogota, Gigio is Gigliardo and the driver and he picked me up in the pouring rain. His English and knowledge of everything was impressive. I enjoyed Barrio Egipto and the La Candelaria tour thoroughly despite the rain on some of the days. The hotel Mercure BH Retiro was in a great neighborhood with many affordable nearby restaurants. (Note, that the hotel did not have temperature control in the rooms; only a small window for ventilation.) Breakfast was excellent and included! I also enjoyed the Concordia Mercado in La Candelaria and would have enjoyed even more time there. The Gold Museum was excellent as well and has clean bathrooms (FYI). Everything in Bogota, despite the rain, was wonderful! The food was excellent. The Ubers were easy and the drivers you had hired were excellent. My highlight of this section was the Paloquemao Market! The food tour was AMAZING - I would happily do it again! Nicolas was our guide and he was so wonderful!. Next in Medellin, Hotel Heiss had wonderful rooftop cocktails although the bar did close by 8pm. The hotel pool was lovely in the sun, too. Breakfast was ample and filling and quite tasty. Service was great and the rooms were nice. El Poblado is a nice walking area and I enjoyed some of the restaurants and gardens in the area. It was nice. I think next time, I would consider staying at the Dann Carlton as it seemed even nicer and at the other end of El Poblado. Doriel was a great interpreter and I thoroughly enjoyed Margii's tour of Communa 13. I loved walking around, taking the cable cars and the Metro. It was a great day, especially with the opportunity to paint a little graffitti of my own and to eat the assorted snacks throughout the day. Our driver, Juan Pablo was excellent for everything that we needed him for. Soul of Coffee at Finca de Leon was amazing despite the 1 other miscommunication to report (2 others were reported in the other reviews). The time of the pickup and the expected time of arrival for the Coffee Farm, Finca de Leon, (near Medellin) was very much confused. As I discussed on Whatsapp, we should allow 45 min to 1 hour to arrive and 2 to 3 hours for the tour. And, remember the drive up and down the mountain/hill is winding and curvy, and without additional lighting. The farm to table coffee experience was FANTASTIC! The guide, Maria (?) was excellent at explaining everything in English and also immersing the tourist in all the activities. It was magical! I had to cancel the Guatepe and El Penol tour as I needed a day of rest and I heard it was too touristy. As I mentioned in the other review, the Silleteros Farm Tour was a highlight of my trip. Next in Cartagena, I already reviewed the Walking Tour and the Bazurto market tour. The Dictador Rum Tasting was an OUTSTANDING experience and I would happily repeat that again as well. I ended up buying 2 bottles of rum and loved it! Manuel is excellent at the tasting session and there were snacks served, which I was unaware of. The last night, Wendy and Danny + Key were great company. It was fun to see where the locals dance salsa at Fidel's and then fun to hang in Getsemani. Danny was a fountain of knowledge as well. The entire night did not last till 1am, but it was perfect. It was a little slow because it was Monday, but it was fine for me. It might not be ok for a younger party crowd on a Monday night. Can't wait to return! Thank you

The extra services were fabulous!!!!! I absolutely loved the Silleteros Flower Farm Tour. Doriel was a great interpreter and Juan Pablo was a safe driver. The breakfast at the 1st farm was amazing and the lunch at the 3rd farm was fantastic. The museum at the 2nd farm was nothing to really visit. If there was a spot to walk around that would have been a nice break between the driving and the 1st and 3rd farms. (I also gave feedback on Whatsapp.) This tour was a HIGHLIGHT of my trip! I also enjoyed Majagua, except I wish that Impulse had recognized the relevance of the Ironman Triathalon that day in terms of impacting the boats to the islands and the dock traffic. This activity likely should have been on another day to avoid that local traffic associated with the race. Majagua was lovely, just not enough time there, with the race impacting the departure by 1 hour or more. My driver, Michael Fontalvo, was extremely helpful and kind though and he worked hard to ensure that I was taken care of. The Cartagena Walking Tour by Oralis was nice, however, looking back at our notes and emails, there was quite a bit of confusion where to meet. Oralis ensured that I was able to shop for a ruana or poncho while showing me the sights inside the wall. The only thing I did not understand was the stop for the jewelry which I had never expressed interest in. The Bazurto market was a wonderful activity! The public transit, the walking, the lunch, the time in the neighborhoods and all with Wendy were fabulous. I LOVED IT! Last, but not least, apologies for cancelling the Guatepe & El Penol tour. It sounded too touristy.

This was the missing night. The Heiss Hotel was great and breakfast was lovely. Thankfully breakfast was included and the pool was nice. The price was great too. However, Diego and I (the travel advisor) should have caught the mistake before I (the traveller) began packing and panicked.

I really had a good time in Bogota and Villa de Lleyva in Central Colombia. The guides has been very educated, nice communication, punctual and with good knowledge. The Hotels nice, friendly and confortable. I enjoyed the whole trip. It would have been nice to show a little bit more flexibility regarding the transport in the City with the driver in Bogota and also to arrange a real late check out from the Hotel, when the flight back is until late night. Thanks a lot for your Engagement!

I took the Breaking Borders tour a few days ago, and it was probably the most impressive and moving tour I have ever done. Getting to know the three guys who are former gang members and now have changed their lives by showing tourists their barrio and telling them their stories was a great honor, and "interesting" does not even come close to describing the hours we spent together. I am still shaken by knowing that one of the guys, who is exactly my age, watched the same football match on tv that I watched when we were both about 12 years old, and while I just went to bed afterwards, he was shot when going back home through his barrio. Plus, my guide Gildardo, who also helped translating, was great. On the way to the barrio and back, talking with him was a pleasure, and he gave great recommendations for more activities in Bogotá. To all of you guys, thank you for an unforgettable day! Hope to see you again some day! I can definitely recommend this tour - it is not only a fantastic way to experience the beautiful city of Bogotá beyond the typical tourist sites (which are great too), but more important, you support this initiative and changing the lives of the people living in the barrio for the better.

Impulse Travel - Colombia Impulse travel, and specifically Felipe Cadena, organized a three-week trip for me and my 82-year-old mother through Colombia. What a great job! - he answered dozens of questions very promptly and patiently. - gave suggestions on the itinerary based on our specific needs and abilities (greatly appreciated!). - arranged all the details in this long and complicated itinerary. - stayed in touch throughout the whole trip allowing and taking care of a couple of small adjustments. What we found particularly IMPRESSIVE and UNIQUE was: - Felipe's engagement of LOCAL people and his effort to have us interact and learn about local/indigenous people, history and culture of each area we visited. - we actually got a cost listing for our trip!!! Now, that makes you feel full transparency and honesty on the part of the company and that endears them to you, for sure. We were well taken care of, felt safe, treated individually, and all our guides/drivers/translators were very considerate, punctual and cordial. Five stars for Felipe and his team. Thank you from Joanna and Marta

Traveling through Colombia with Impulse was extraordinary. They are knowledgeable, funny, well prepared and know all the best places typically reserved for locals. Their insight into the culture and history of the country grew my appreciation for Colombia to a depth I never could have imagined. The music, the food, the people - thank you, Impulse, for broadening my perspective in such a fun and enjoyable way!

What an amazing group of people that work for Impulse Travel! They take such good care of all the details, the local connections they have are incredible, they are very good on preparing the travelers for their trip + very accommodating when requested for something specific. I did my 40th bday trip with them and the Sounds of Colombia itinerary and it was one of the best trips of my life! It is amazing to travel with Gregorio Uribe and all his amazing knowledge and connections of great musicians around Colombia. Rodrigo and Juli also were very kind to accommodate when I asked if we could play Tejo (the amazing Colombia sport/game). I absolutely love the positive impact that trip had in the communities, as we only stayed on local owned places, ate incredible food made by the communities we visited and worked with local guides. Incredible! It was a very fun, educational and transformative trip! Highly recommend!
