The park’s rich vegetation spans montane, cloud, and swamp forests, supporting over 500 tree species. Along the coast, the adventure continues in the waters, where migrating humpback whales, playful dolphins, and occasional manatees provide unforgettable wildlife encounters.
Established in 1975, San Pedrillo Station is located on the northern shore of the Osa Peninsula and covers roughly 1,500 hectares. It serves as a key hub for wildlife observation, offering easier access to some of the park’s iconic coastal trails. San Pedrillo is known for its rich birdlife, including large populations of toucans and scarlet macaws, and provides excellent opportunities to observe monkeys, tapirs, and other mammals in their natural habitat. A curious note: while smaller and less visited than Sirena, San Pedrillo’s sunsets over the Pacific are considered among the most spectacular in Corcovado.
