Day 1

Day 1 image

Arrival, San José

Arrive in San José at your own pace. Welcome briefing and early night ahead of tomorrow's flight south.

Day 2

Day 2 image

Fly to Osa Peninsula / Drake Bay

Morning flight to the Osa Peninsula. Afternoon boat transfer to Corcovado Sirena Station.

Day 3-4

Day 3-4 image

Corcovado National Park

Full days inside Corcovado with a certified local guide, exploring one of the most biodiverse rainforests on Earth.

Day 5

Day 5 image

Fly to San José, transfer to Cerro de la Muerte.

Morning return to Drake and flight back to San José from the Osa Peninsula, then travel up into the Talamanca highlands.

Day 6

Day 6 image

Cerro de la Muerte

Full day in the highlands, private Resplendent Quetzal session paired with a hummingbird multi-flash workshop.

Day 7

Day 7 image

Second Quetzal Morning + Transfer to Centro Manú

A second early morning attempt at the Resplendent Quetzal for the best possible odds, then travel to Centro Manú, a small lowland reserve near Guápiles. Evening herping session in search of frogs and reptiles.

Day 8

Day 8 image

Late Morning Departure to Boca Tapada

A relaxed morning at Centro Manú before continuing on to Boca Tapada in the lowland rainforest, arriving in the afternoon.

Day 9

Day 9 image

Boca Tapada

Full day at the King Vulture hide and surrounding feeder platforms, closing with the evening bat multi-flash workshop.

Day 10

Day 10 image

Transfer to Arenal

Travel to Arenal Observatory Lodge, closing the loop back toward San José. Afternoon exploring the lodge's grounds, home to nearly 500 bird species, with volcano views as a backdrop.

Day 11

Day 11 image

Departure

Return transfer to San José for departure.
