About this trip

Join us for an Āyurveda, yoga, and meditation eco-luxury jungle retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica. Set between jungle and sea, this retreat offers miles of pristine beaches, hiking trails, and a slower rhythm of life—an environment that supports deep regulation, embodied health, and inner peace.

Grounded in holistic health practices, this retreat also invites a deeper inquiry into how we experience ourselves and the world. Alongside caring for the body, we explore access to a more fundamental sense of ease, stability, and inner peace—what many come to recognize as a baseline of fundamental okayness and natural potential that is already present beneath habit and stress.

The retreat will be held at Imiloa, a boutique retreat center on 30 acres of secondary jungle in the Savegre Mountains. The land itself supports coming home to yourself and waking up to deeper dimensions, offering a simple and spacious container for both restoration and inner maturation.

Each day begins with an hour-long meditation practice devoted to steadiness of mind and direct experience. These sessions emphasize presence and turning toward the moment, supporting both nervous system regulation and insight. Over time, many participants notice a shift from effortful doing toward a more natural way of resting in awareness.

After breakfast, daily three-hour Āyurveda, dharma, and yoga workshops go well beyond general group classes. These sessions integrate Eastern wisdom with embodied understanding. Practices weave together Ayurveda, yoga, strength, somatics, breathwork, and subtle energy with inquiry into the habits of mind and perception that shape daily life. The work is progressive and embodied, supporting not only physical health but also integration and deepening—how insight is lived, stabilized, and carried into ordinary moments.

Each afternoon offers ample free time. You may choose to go to the beach, bird watch, seek out the resident sloths, or explore other adventures Costa Rica has to offer.

You may also remain on site to rest and integrate—spending time at the saltwater pool overlooking the coast, walking the jungle paths, or sitting quietly in one of many peaceful spaces. Luxury spa services are available as optional self-care.

In short, this retreat is for those who sense that wellbeing is not only about improving habits or fixing problems, but about touching something more essential in their experience. Rather than striving for a different version of yourself, this experience supports a shift in how oneself and reality is perceived and lived.

Through sustained practice, community, and immersion in nature, retreating becomes a form of collective care—offering inner resources that support how you live, relate, and serve in the world.

OTHER THINGS TO EXPECT

Days in Costa Rica are warm/hot and evenings are a little cooler, giving you reprieve from the heat. The retreat happens during the dry season, so rain will be sparse. Since we’ll be staying at a retreat center with indoor/outdoor elements, expect to be somewhat exposed to nature (including winds, cicadas, geckos, and jungle bugs), as well as the sounds of monkeys and tropical birds when the jungle wakes up. Imiloa is located in the deep jungle, the trails may have various inclines and terrain may be uneven if you choose to hike. It is recommended to bring sturdy shoes in addition to sandals or flip-flops.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

Imiloa, our retreat center, has rigorous health and safety protocols in place. Participants shall be solely responsible for complying with all Covid-19 entry requirements of the destination country and re-entry requirements back to one’s country of origin.

PLEASE NOTE

Costs associated with passports (required), airfare, flight changes, airline baggage fees for any and all baggage, medical and travel insurance, vaccinations, gratuities and taxes for personal services, spa services, and tours/excursions must be met by the participant.

Cancel for any reason insurance is required. Cancel for any reason travel insurance ensures you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, health or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels. Although we cannot advise on specific policies or providers, you may find this or this guide helpful. There are no exceptions with our cancellation policy due to the contractual commitments we have with our vendors who do not offer refunds or transfer of funds.
