About this trip

Join us for an eco-luxury jungle retreat overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Costa Rica. Imagine miles of pristine beaches, secret waterfalls, a relaxed way of being, and an opportunity to rest into your true nature.

The retreat will be held at Imiloa—a luxury boutique retreat center on 30 acres of secondary jungle in the Saverge Mountains that invokes transformation, wellness, and harmony.

Each day will begin with an hour-long class devoted to meditation and mindfulness techniques. After breakfast, the daily three-hour Ayurveda and yoga classes are intended to go beyond the general group classes you may experience back home. Throughout the week, we’ll build progressively on Ayurvedic and yogic wisdom as well as anatomical, alignment, and energetic themes.

Each afternoon there is ample free time so that, if you wish, you can hike to secret waterfalls, bird watch, seek out the resident sloths, head to the beach, or explore any of the other adventures Costa Rica has to offer. As remote as Imiloa feels, it is only minutes away from pristine beaches, surfing, zip-lining, nature hikes, shopping, and restaurants.

You can also spend free time at Imiloa, which has a saltwater pool with a spectacular view of the coast, hiking trails to waterfalls, and plenty of sweet spots to relax. There is also a spa where self-care services may be purchased separately.

In short, this is a retreat for spiritual seekers who want to experience the profound transformation and reset that is possible when you carve out time for yourself and your practice amidst a breathtaking tropical jungle near the beach. You will experience how retreating is a path of collective care; giving you the inner resource to support the way you want to be in the world.

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS?

This retreat will allow you to unplug from your stresses and responsibilities, from electronics and newsfeeds, and remember what is really important to you. You will get the time you need for introspection so that you can reset and come home to yourself. You’ll go deeper into your yoga and mindfulness practice and learn to create new habits. You will be awe-inspired by experiencing one of the most beautiful places on earth. You’ll also be part of an open and inclusive community of fellow spiritual seekers.

OTHER THINGS TO EXPECT

Days in Costa Rica are warm/hot and evenings are a little cooler, giving you reprieve from the heat. The retreat happens during the dry season, so rain will be sparse. Since we’ll be staying at a retreat center with indoor/outdoor elements, expect to be somewhat exposed to nature (including winds, geckos, and jungle bugs), as well as the sounds of monkeys and tropical birds when the jungle wakes up. Imiloa is located in the deep jungle, the trails may have various inclines and terrain may be uneven if you choose to hike. It is recommended to bring sturdy shoes in addition to sandals or flip-flops.

COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES

Imiloa, our retreat center, has rigorous health and safety protocols in place. Participants shall be solely responsible for complying with all Covid-19 entry requirements of the destination country and re-entry requirements back to one’s country of origin. A negative Covid-19 may be requested prior to retreat.

PLEASE NOTE

Costs associated with passports (required), airfare, flight changes, airline baggage fees for any and all baggage, medical and travel insurance, vaccinations, gratuities and taxes for personal services, spa services, and tours/excursions must be met by the participant.

Cancel for any reason insurance is required. Cancel for any reason travel insurance ensures you are covered should any unexpected event arise. A personal, political, environmental, health or weather-related incident or pre-existing medical condition may prevent or interrupt your travels. Food and beverages were amazing -- some of the best I have ever enjoyed. The grounds were impeccable. The accommodations were beautiful. The staff was kind and accommodating and had a great sense of humor, too! The retreat leader and assistant were simply the best. Wherever they travel I travel!

Stunning jungle setting at the Imiloa Institute with amazing gourmet vegan meals and mocktails. The staff go above and beyond to make sure you feel comfortable. Andrea yoga, meditation and Ayurvedic teachings are heartfelt and skillful, and enhanced by her radiant positivity. And Rebecca's yoga later in the day kept me grounded all day. The excursions were exciting and beautiful...on the mangrove kayaking trip we saw sloths, monkeys, and so many lovely birds. Everything is so well planned and top notch!

Costa Rica lovely! Yoga in the jungle, labyrinth, food and company were excellent! The Imiloa campus was beautiful but more physically challenging than expected and as compared to Ahki. Lighting --- a better balance between aesthetics and functionality needed and can be achieved while maintaining eco-system of jungle - including the walking paths, "Heart" - dining room.. Often felt unsafe with use of headlamp at night.

The Costa Rico Retreat with Andrea was amazing! The Imiloa Institute was an incredibly beautiful site to host the retreat. The Imiloa staff was warm and welcoming, working above and beyond expectations. The staff was on it if assistance was needed to remove a spider or gecko, deliver towels, etc. It was obvious the staff loved their jobs and worked together flawlessly as a team. I was treated with utmost care in regard to food intolerances. Andrea and Rebecca did an excellent job leading and supporting yoga practices, meditations, and Ayurvedic dharma talks. At the onset, Andrea created a positive, nurturing, and inclusive environment. Sound healing, walking the Labyrinth, and participating in the Mandela ceremony at the beach were truly healing, awakening, and enlightening experiences. I would highly recommend retreating with Andrea. I continue to carry the messages Andera shared during the retreat and am living with more intention and in the present moment. Pura Vida, simple life, pure life, is something I now carry in my heart.

My time at the Christine Center for Andrea's retreat was just wonderful. I came away not just feeling refreshed and centered, but with actual tools to move forward with...and so much to think about! Andrea embodies all of the things she talks about, you can see it...feel it. Her knowledge of Ayurveda, the body, nature, and how it all ties into each other, is incredible. Anyone who has the opportunity to experience learning from Andrea should make it a priority to do so!
