About this trip

7 Days of Retreat & Yoga

Leave the routine of your daily life and come home. Come home to what you already have and already know. Oftentimes, the obligations and routines of our daily life challenge our ability to connect with our inner wisdom.

The practices of yoga, meditation, journal writing, and discussion will, throughout the week, will help guide us back to the place within each one of us which is our home base.

Our intention is to provide an opportunity to find the tranquil space within via the practices of yoga, meditation and mindfulness. During our twice daily scheduled time together, we will weave these practices together, so that the physical practice of yoga may become the metaphor for the inner journey

This Costa Rica retreat naturally offers the silence, space and beauty to slow down, tune in, connect and journey home to the wisdom necessary to do your life’s work. Yoga is used as the organic metaphor for life experiences. Away from the busyness and routines, a new rhythm arises; A rhythm woven with movement, nurturing and deep connection. Challenge, feel and connect to the wisdom always available and already within you.

Daily practices of mindfulness, meditation and journaling will be easily incorporated beyond the retreat environment. Take home with you the ability to connect amidst the storm of life’s challenges and beauty.

Everything was fantastic about this retreat, no complaints at all. It exceeded my expectations worth every penny! Erin exactly the same in person as she is on her videos., if not better. I am not a vegetarian and have never eaten like one before so I wasn't sure what I was going to get, but the food was so good and so much variety. I was also a little nervous about staying in a room with 3 other girls I had never met before, but everyone was so nice and respectful of each other. I think when you go to something like this a lot of the personalities and interests are similar so it was great. The location was so beautiful and you cannot get enough of that view. The howler monkeys in the distance wake you up early in the morning so no need for an alarm clock. It is such a cool sound. I did the zipliing and paddlebording both were alot of fun, definatley recommend. This is the best trip I have ever gone on. A bunch of the other guests did some more travelling within Costa Rica after the retreat, this is my only regret that I did not do something like that as well.
Words cannot do justice to my experience on this retreat. The multiple perspectives of location, accommodation, yoga, hosting, food, community and the program of events developed by Erin and Matt created a peaceful, energising and deeply nourishing week that I will remember for a long time. Erin and Matt are genuine hosts and are developing a special and authentic retreat that will keep getting better and better.
A week in the most beautiful boutique residence, eating delicious food and enjoying amazing international company. A 6 day yoga retreat was a truly blissful experience. It was very well organised, with lots of information sent ahead of time by Five Park's producer Matt. Erin's structured, relaxed yoga practice was both supportive and challenging. Erin effortlessly managed to engage the entire group (16 of us) from experienced inversion practioners, binding their arms into impossible positions behind their backs while balancing on one toe, to absolute beginners like me, who started the week unable to touch my toes. The accommodation was tasteful, traditional, under-stated and extremely comfortable, situated on a hillside overlooking treetops rolling down to the Pacific coast. 7am yoga sessions on the open-air wooden deck looking out at the view, were an invigorating and stretchy way to start the day. After which our very own chef prepared a super-healthy feast of fresh fruits, eggs, pancakes, oatcakes to set us up for a busy day of sunbathing, sleeping, hiking, zip-lining, surfing, shopping or snoozing by the pool. At 4pm another 90 minute session of yoga saw us sweating, bending, reaching, balancing, falling over and laughing our way to a gentle sunset Shavasana and a little light meditation. The whole week was exceptionally organised by Erin and Matt. Completely random strangers from across the US, Canada and Europe all came together with ease and in the holistic spirit inspired by Erin's zen leadership. We ate like A-listers, chatted like old friends, laughed like drains and, by the end of the week were as lithe and supple as acrobats. Even me.
This retreat was a dream! I was surprised how complex and sensitive the planning was made and the approach of Erin made all go smooth and with a beautiful energy. Not only yoga classes twice a day, but also additional program made the relaxation within the *journey home* program complex. Erin and Matt are great organizers and beautiful people who made the week feel great for everybody. Perfect pre-voyage arrangements. The group that gathered perfectly fitted, the spa area provided us with all comfort needed. Food was delicious. I enjoyed so much!!! Thank you. Katerina
I can honestly say that this was one of the best weeks of my life! Erin is a truly inspirational teacher who has thoughtfully developed a holistic retreat experience for mind, body and soul. She is even more incredible in person and the yoga classes were challenging and invigorating, well timed twice a day to set us up for the morning and then later in the day to welcome the sunset at the end of our practice. The Costa Rica Yoga Spa is a beautiful location with stunning views, a peaceful retreat in the hills of Nosara with a gorgeous wooden rancho where we would practise our yoga and admire the view on the horizon to the sea in the distance. The staff were kind, warm and welcoming and the meals cooked by Victor absolutely delicious. The terrace was the perfect place to enjoy our meals as a group and take in the view. The retreat was so much more than just yoga with thoughtful reflective group sessions as well as the opportunities to participate in activities (I enjoyed the incredible ziplining experience, as well as my first surf lesson where I managed to stand up thanks to Tony our great surf teacher). I also had an amazing massage - one of the best ever! We had such a great group and everyone really got on together which meant sharing a room with 3 other ladies was a pleasure. Accommodation was excellent and there are plenty of bathrooms and showers either side which are kept beautifully clean. And lastly, thanks to Matt who was really helpful in all the organisation of the retreat and was also the most wonderful photographer capturing the essence of our wonderful week together. All in all I cannot recommend this retreat enough, it was certainly a very special experience and I very much hope to return again in the future. Many thanks to Erin, Matt and all the team at the Costa Rica Yoga Spa!
