Start our experience in the morning, driving through Ecuador’s scenic highlands, watching the mountains shift and stretch as we make our way to Cotopaxi National Park. Once inside, get ready to step into a world of rocky beauty, wild horses, and crisp mountain air. But the real challenge awaits—the trek to the Jose Rivas Refuge (4,864m!). It’s steep, it’s chilly, and yes, you will feel the altitude—but that’s all part of the fun! We’ll keep you fueled with some coca leaf tea, a local remedy that’s been helping Andean travelers for centuries.
After conquering the climb and snapping some victory pics, we’ll reward ourselves with a well-deserved lunch at Hacienda Tambopaxi, a cozy spot with unbeatable volcano views. Expect hearty local flavors, a warm atmosphere, and the satisfaction of having tackled one of Ecuador’s most iconic peaks.
With happy hearts, we head back to Quito, carrying unforgettable memories, fresh mountain energy, and probably a hundred Cotopaxi selfies. So, are you in? Let’s make this adventure happen!
