About this trip

Dr. Brittaney Hill invites you to join her in Scotland for a journey beyond compare.  Interact with professional counterparts to discuss issues of specific concern to the population of Scotland, including the influence of diet and other factors in the oral health of the population, the effect of the local diet in dental disease, and efficacy of dental therapy programs.  Meet with a representative from the NHS National Services Scotland to learn about their role in the provision of care, especially to the most vulnerable in the population, and explore dental education with a visit to a local university and/or dental school. Cultural highlights on this journey include visits to Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aviemore to explore iconic locations such as Glasgow Cathedral, Edinburgh Castle, the Royal Mile, Cairngorms National Park, a whiskey distillery visit and so much more. Additionally, you will have an opportunity to connect with local people while visiting a local sheep farm to meet their collie pups, bottle-feed the orphan lambs, or shear a sheep.

Take part in a bagpiping experience at the National Piping Center, meeting a master chocolatier and venturing into a secret Scotland, reaching heights of nearly 3,000 feet in search of rare wildlife including the famous grouse, the elusive mountain hare, the majestic red deer, and the soaring golden eagle. Visit Cyrenians, a group who have worked with the homeless and vulnerable for the last 50 years to transform their lives, and give back through participation in one of their projects.

Why Nanda Journeys

"Nanda Trips are filled with a purpose to serve the communities we visit. This is our second trip with Nanda Journeys and we were deeply touched in both instances by our interactions with the groups we helped. No matter how limited our contribution was (i.e. dental screenings), we all felt inspired by these groups (i.e. the communities in Peru and in Tanzania). We can't wait for the next trip." Dr. Lourdes Secola & Sheldon Lerner

"It's all about customer service. Tapping the knowledge, expertise and communication capability of a Nanda Journeys means our group gets expert advice, customized to our interests, knows what to expect each step of the way, gets answers and help on all those impossible exceptions that crop up, and returns from the adventure having an experience that lasts a lifetime…and craving even more.”  G. Crispin - Business Owner
