What is Ayurvedic

The ancient discipline of Ayurveda, is the system of natural medicine, develop in India more than 5,000 years ago. The word comes from Sanskrit Ayur = life Veda = knowledge or science hence the science of life.

It’s core principles are:

1.      Balance is key – Health comes from balancing the body, mind and spirit.

2.     5 elements (Pancha Mahabhuta): Everything in the universe (including the human body) is made of earth, water, fire, air and ether (space)

3.     Three Doshas (energies)

·       Vata (Air + Space)

·       Pitta (Fire + Water)

·       Kapha (earth + water)

Ayurveda involves:

·       Diet & Lifestyle: Eating according to your doshas type and seasons

·       Herbal Remedies: Natural Plant, oils and spices to heal and prevent illnesses

·       Therapies: detox (like Panchakarma) meditation and yoga

·       Preventive care: Focuses not just on treating diseases, but on maintaining a long-term wellness

Why Ayurveda is important:

·       Provide natural, holistic healing without relying on modern pharmaceuticals

·       Encourage self-awareness and daily habits and support overall well-being

·       Integrates well with yoga and meditation for a complete mind-body-spirit approach
