Congratulations, you’ve made an awesome decision. Why? Because for your first dive, you’re going to discover one of the best dive spots in Costa Rica: the Catalina Islands!

While diving with Be Water Diving Tamarindo (SSI diving center), you’re in great hands. Our instructors are 100% SSI certified, ensuring that you get the most out of this experience. And here’s the best part: you don’t need any prior certification to join our Discover Scuba Diving program!

So, get ready to explore the amazing underwater world of Costa Rica with us!

After booking your SSI Discover Scuba Diving mini course, meet us at our Tamarindo diving center at 7 AM. Your instructor will welcome you and help you get comfy with your dive gear. From there we will board on our diving boat steps from our shop to the Catalina Islands, where the real underwater fun begins.

Before you dive in, your instructor will show you the basics of scuba diving and explain how your gear works. You’ll pick up essential safety tips and learn how to breathe with your regulator.

With Discover Scuba Diving, you’ll have the chance to explore the Catalina Islands down to 12 meters (40 feet). It’s a great way to try out scuba diving and see if you want to go for the SSI Open Water Diver course!

To join our Discover Scuba Diving mini course, you need to be at least 10 years old, in good health, and comfortable in the water.

IMPORTANT:  Client must review the DSD Participant Statement and anyone with a “YES” is REQUIRED to have a Medical Statement approved by a doctor.  On the day of the tour, any person with a medical statement preventing them from participating in scuba diving will be switched to snorkeling and charged the original scuba price

On the big day, we suggest you bring: your swimsuit, a towel, sunscreen, a hat or cap, sunglasses, and of course, your best positive attitude! Once we’re on the boat, we’ll offer you fresh water, ice tea, fruit, and snacks to keep you energized for your dives.
