Imagine waking up in a cozy mountain refuge, stepping outside to towering limestone peaks, and spending the day hiking through some of Europe's most spectacular landscapes. By evening, you're sitting down to a delicious Italian dinner, watching the sun dip behind the mountains, and laughing with the women you've shared the trail with.

Join Three Horizons Adventures for an unforgettable hut-to-hut hiking experience through the heart of the Italian Alps. We'll trek along highlights of the iconic Alta Via 1, discovering turquoise alpine lakes, dramatic mountain passes, wildflower-filled meadows, and charming mountain villages along the way.

This is a trip for women who want to challenge themselves, experience the magic of the mountains, and discover that the world is full of endless possibilities.

A NOTE FROM US

This is a genuine mountain hiking trip. You'll be walking on uneven terrain, climbing and descending steep trails, and carrying a hiking pack. Participants should be comfortable with multi-day hiking and prepared for changing mountain weather.

The exact huts, hiking routes, and daily distances will be finalized based on availability, weather, and trail conditions. We'll share the confirmed itinerary with participants before the trip.

Cancellation Policy

1. Deposit Refund Period: If the Participant cancels within thirty (30) calendar days of

the original registration date, the Participant will receive a 100% refund of the deposit.

2. Non-Refundable Payments: After the initial 30-day refund period, all payments are

non-refundable, regardless of the reason for cancellation, including but not limited to

illness, injury, family emergency, weather, work obligations, personal circumstances, or

any other reason.

3. Registration Within 90 Days of Departure: Participants who register within ninety (90)

days of the scheduled departure date acknowledge that all payments are non-

refundable from the date of registration.

4. Organizer Cancellation: If the Organizer must cancel the trip due to unforeseen

circumstances, the Organizer will refund all payments made directly to the Organizer.

The Organizer is not responsible for reimbursing airfare, travel insurance premiums,

passport or visa fees, or any other expenses booked or purchased separately by the

Participant.

Venice • Welcome dinner • The adventure begins

Welcome to Italy! 🇮🇹

Today is all about arriving, settling in, and getting excited for the adventure ahead.

You'll make your way to Venice, where we'll meet our Three Horizons group and get to know the women we'll be sharing this incredible journey with.

Once everyone is settled into our hotel, we'll gather for a welcome group dinner. Think delicious Italian food, a glass of wine, and plenty of excitement about the mountains waiting for us.

We'll take this evening to relax, connect, and enjoy our first taste of Italy together before heading into the Dolomites tomorrow.

No hiking boots required just yet. 😉

From Venice to the Dolomites

Venice • Lago di Braies • Our first night in the mountains

Our adventure begins in Venice, where we'll meet our group and make our way north into the breathtaking Italian Dolomites.

We'll leave the city behind and travel through the Italian countryside toward Lago di Braies, one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the region. As the landscape changes from rolling hills to towering limestone peaks, the excitement will begin to build.

Once we arrive in the mountains, we'll take some time to enjoy the scenery, stretch our legs, and soak in our first taste of the Dolomites.

Depending on our arrival time and the final route, we'll either enjoy a gentle introductory walk around the lake or begin our first section of the trail toward the mountains.

By evening, we'll settle into our first mountain refuge, enjoy a delicious Italian dinner, and get ready for the adventure ahead.

Overnight: Mountain rifugio or accommodation near the trailhead

Travel: Group transfer from Venice to the Dolomites

Hiking: Gentle introductory walk or first trail section, depending on arrival time and conditions.

Into the Mountains

Lago di Braies • First alpine views • Mountain hut

Our adventure begins at the stunning Lago di Braies, one of the most beautiful alpine lakes in the Dolomites.

After a nice breakfast, we'll begin our first hike into the mountains. The trail leads us away from the lake and up into the spectacular alpine landscape, where towering peaks and sweeping meadows surround us.

We'll make our way toward our first mountain refuge, where we'll settle in, enjoy a hearty dinner, and spend our first night beneath the Dolomites.

This is the beginning of something special.

Approx. 6–10 km • 3–5 hours • 700–930 m ascent, depending on the selected hut and route. Overnight target: Rifugio Sennes or Rifugio Biella.

Day 4

Alpine Meadows & Mountain Magic

Sennes • Fanes • Italian mountain landscapes

After breakfast, we'll continue our journey through the stunning alpine landscapes of the Dolomites.

Today takes us across wide-open mountain meadows, past dramatic rock formations, and through some of the most beautiful scenery in the region. We'll stop for lunch along the way, take in the views, and enjoy the slower rhythm of life on the trail.

By afternoon, we'll arrive at our next mountain hut, where we can relax, enjoy a delicious dinner, and watch the mountains change color as the sun begins to set.

Mountain air, good food, and a group of women making memories together. What more could you want?

Approx. 10–14 km • 4–6 hours • 400–600 m ascent, depending on route variant. Overnight: Rifugio Fanes or a suitable nearby rifugio.

Day 5

Big Views and Lagazuoi

High mountain passes • Dramatic peaks • Sunset in the Alps

Today is one of the big adventure days.

We'll hike toward the spectacular Lagazuoi area, where the scenery becomes even more dramatic. Think towering limestone walls, high mountain passes, sweeping valleys, and some of the most incredible views in the Dolomites.

We'll explore the landscape around Lagazuoi, with opportunities to discover the fascinating mountain history of the region.

Our reward is a night in the mountains at or near Rifugio Lagazuoi. Perched high above the valleys, this is a truly unforgettable place to spend the night.

If the weather and conditions allow, we'll make time for a golden-hour mountain moment. Bring your camera — and a warm layer.

Approx. 12–16 km • 5–7 hours • 700–1,100 m ascent, depending on route.

Overnight target: Rifugio Lagazuoi.

Day 6

The Iconic Dolomites

Cinque Torri • Mountain trails • Alpine beauty

After breakfast, we'll continue through the incredible landscapes of the Dolomites toward the iconic Cinque Torri area.

This is the scenery you came to Italy for.

We'll hike beneath enormous limestone towers, take in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, and explore some of the most beautiful trails in the region.

We'll have time to stop for lunch, take photographs, and enjoy the incredible landscape before arriving at our next mountain refuge.

Tonight, we'll enjoy another delicious mountain dinner and one more evening surrounded by the peaks.

Approx. 10–15 km • 4–6 hours • 300–700 m ascent, depending on hut and route.

Overnight target: Rifugio Averau or Rifugio Nuvolau.

Day 7

Down to Cortina

Final mountain hike • Cortina d'Ampezzo • Celebration dinner

After one last morning in the mountains, we'll begin our descent toward Cortina d'Ampezzo.

The landscape changes as we make our way down through alpine meadows and forests toward this beautiful Italian mountain town.

We'll gather for a delicious Italian dinner, raise a glass to the adventure, and reflect on all the incredible moments we've shared over the past few days.

We came to hike the Dolomites. We'll leave with memories — and hopefully a few new friends for life.

Heading Home

Breakfast • Departures

After six days of adventure, we'll enjoy our last morning breakfast together before heading home.

We will catch our shared van transfer back to Venice to drop off at the airport, or to continue your trip elsewhere.

And just like that, our Dolomites adventure comes to an end.

But the memories? Those are coming home with you.

Taryn Langlois is an adventure enthusiast, trail runner, and outdoor educator with a passion for helping women discover the world through meaningful experiences. Based in Colorado, she spends her free time exploring mountain trails, backpacking, camping and seeking out new adventures around the globe.

Amelia Brame is a family travel creator, wild woman adventurer, lover of dance and a photographer. She lived in London for six years traveling Europe with her family and has recently relocated to the US with her family where her adventuring of New England continues.
