Well known Shetland tour guide, Laurie Goodlad, will join our cruise from Lerwick up the east coast with the aim of visiting various islands and having time ashore to learn more about the community heritage and see the spectacular scenery.
Depending on weather and tides, the plan will be to head up the east coast to the islands of Skerries and Whalsay. With time ashore in each place over the next two days, passengers will enjoy meeting members of the community and guided walks around the isles.
You will learn more about the fascinating shipwreck and fishing history of Skerries and visit the hanseatic fishing böd and heritage centre in Whalsay.
We will spend a night berthed at each isle and head back to Lerwick on Saturday, taking in the sights of the seabird colonies at Noss – if weather permits.
As with any journey on board swan, all plans are subject to weather, tide and other prevailing conditions and last minute changes may need to be made to the itinerary. But rest assured, our skipper will find the best route to give you an amazing experience and our knowledgeable guide will keep you entertained and informed when sailing activities are not keeping you busy!
