You can start the morning drifting above the historical sites and countryside of Luxor in a sunrise hot air balloon ride. Then we’ll embark on a thrilling adventure to the Valley of the Kings, the ultimate royal hideaway, where New Kingdom Pharaohs (16th to 11th century BC) were buried for eternity - many of the tombs are still being discovered today, Lack of light pollution and careful preservation means that the original colours of these tombs are intact - we’ll enter three of them so you can see for yourself what a royal tomb looks like!
In the afternoon, we’ll explore the 15th century BC Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. She is a renowned queen who held the longest reign—21 years—in ancient Egypt. We’ll also pass by an Alabaster workshop where you’ll get to learn how this rock is carved in Egypt - you can even give it a try! In the evening, we’ll check out of our hotel and take a short flight back to Cairo.
