The book Classic Rock by Ken Wilson was first published in 1978. It was a fantastic book listing some of the greatest climbs at the lower grades in the UK. It was full of inspiring photos and stories and became an instant classic. To this day, people still aspire to 'tick off' all of the Classic Rock Climbs.
We can provide a Rock Climbing Guide across Scotland at all grades allowing you to 'tick' off some of the classics in the Ken Wilson book.
We are based in Fort William, which gives us great access to Ben Nevis and Glencoe, which offer a huge range of climbs at different grades and a variety of Rock types. We can offer Rock Climbing Guides for Skye, where the variety of rock climbing is amazing. There are big, long routes in the mountains, such as the routes in the Black Cuillin or one of the many sea cliffs that are dotted around the island.
Some of the best-known classic rock routes are Tower Ridge, Agag's Groove, Archer Ridge, The Long Climb and Ardverikie Wall. Further afield but still in Scotland, you have the Cuillin Ridge traverse, Integrity and the Cioch Direct on Skye and in the northwest, you have the Cioch nose. The Cairngorms has several Classic Rock routes too such as Savage Slit, Squareface, the Clean Sweep and the Talisman.
Our Rock Climbing Guides can be booked throughout the Summer months for single or multi-day trips. Prices start at £330 per day.
If you are looking to link several routes/days together please do get in touch and we can help you achieve as much as possible with the time you have.
