Trip Details
Emigrant Wilderness in Stanislaus National Forest is a gorgeous wilderness area bordered by Yosemite and Toiyabe National Forest. The northeastern third of the stunning, glaciated landscape features volcanic ridges and peaks, while the rest of the area is made up of sparsely vegetated, granitic ridges, dotted with numerous lakes and meadows. This trip is ideal for women who want to experience backpacking without the hassle of logistics and permits. We handle all the behind-the-scenes details, so you can simply show up and enjoy the adventure.
Making a Difference
We're proud to donate 10% of proceeds from this event to No Worries Amigo Hiking Club

Timing & Transportation
We'll meet at the Gianelli trailhead at 10am on Day 1. We suggest carpooling and are happy to help coordinate. Our trip will end at our starting point by Noon on Day 3.
Level: Beginner to Intermediate
This trip is for novice to Intermediate backpackers able to hike 5 miles with a 25-lb pack. A training plan will be shared to help you prepare!
Hikes
From the trailhead at 8500ft, we’ll hike 5 miles to the campsite at Chewing Gum Lake with 1000ft elevation gain/loss. Our day hike will be anywhere from 1 – 6 miles, and you're welcome to spend the day lakeside near the campsite if you'd prefer!
Amenities
None! We’ll be filtering water and “doing our business” in the woods. If you haven’t done this before, no worries, we’ll provide all the info and supplies you’ll need and teach Leave No Trace Principles along the way.

We recommend a 45-65L backpack that can be rented/fitted at most outdoor recreation stores. It will need to be big enough to fit your personal items + a small bear bin & a small amt of group gear.
We recommend a lightweight sleeping bag rated for 40 degrees, that compacts into a small stuff sack.
We'll recommend a packing list for clothes, toiletries and other upon sign up.
