Join Gretchen Campos and Terri Patterson for 5 nights / 6 days in Catalunya’s Costa Brava, a majestic stretch of Spain’s Mediterranean coastline, which stretches from the France-Spain border, south towards Barcelona. Visitors love the region for its picturesque Medieval-era towns, beautiful rolling hills, and gorgeous beaches, and is the perfect place to retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city!
During this itinerary, we will include three cultural excursions that we feel highlight the unique must-dos of the region.
On your first full day in Costa Brava, we will spend time exploring the beautiful coastline, both directly below the retreat center, and on a walk on the nearby coast. We’ll get beautiful views from up high on cliffs, of the beautiful blue sea water. We’ll take our shoes off and cross soft, sandy beaches. We’ll end with some delicious Spanish tapas at a seaside cafe!
We will also spend a day visiting the cultural and historical city of Girona, where we will include an expertly guided tour of the old city, lunch at a delicious local restaurant and a visit to the Salvador Dali Museum in nearby Figueres.
The Costa Brava region is also famous for its medieval villages and local wineries. Included in our retreat is an afternoon touring the quaint, 11th century village of Pals, plus a visit to a local wine cellar, with educational tour, tasting and lite bites.
Of course, we also leave ample free time to simply sit by the pool, read a book, get a massage, visit a nearby village, and practice yoga with Gretchen and Terri in our gorgeous studio. The town of Begur is a 30 minute walk (or 10 minute drive) from the retreat property, and features wonderful little shops, restaurants, and ruins of a Medieval Castle. Fancy a beach day? There are two gorgeous ones within a 30 minute walk of our villa.

Arrival Day: Monday, April 22nd
If you will arrive at Barcelona Airport (BCN) on Monday, April 22nd, please plan to land by 11am. We will schedule one included group transfer from the airport to our villa in Begur (about a 1.5 hour drive), and arrive in time for an afternoon meal.
Please note that you will need to depart from the United States on the evening of Sunday, April 21st, as flights heading over to Spain are typically overnight flights.
If you plan to arrive a few days early to spend extra time in Barcelona prior to April 22nd, we will also make one stop in the city center before heading to the retreat center. Barcelona’s streets are tightly regulated, and so the hired transport can only stop in select areas. You should be prepared to take a short taxi or Uber to a central location on the morning of April 22nd. We will send full details about a week prior to the retreat start date.
Departure Day: Saturday, April 27th
Please do NOT book flights that depart before 12pm on Saturday, April 27th, as we will be traveling about 1.5 hours from our villa in Begur to the airport that morning.
Note: We will plan to make one stop at the airport, and then one stop in the city center for anyone staying on and exploring Barcelona after the retreat. Once again, this stop will be made in a central location, and a short taxi ride will likely be necessary to reach your specific hotel or AirBnB.
If you are spending extra time in Barcelona, we recommend booking hotels / AirBnBs in the El Born and Gothic Quarter neighborhoods, as they are great, safe areas and very central to all of the local attractions. If you’d like to view other recommendations of things to do, please visit this helpful guide that we’ve put together: Barcelona City Recommendations.
Once you have booked your flights, please forward your flight confirmation email to info@solseedretreats.com.
