We will begin our day with a yoga class and meditation tailored to the vibe of the group, in order to help our bodies and minds recover from traveling. Our morning will be spent discussing essential self-care routines before wandering in town for our own massage or routine of choice. Our evening will be spent a short drive from our retreat center to a purification ritual at Tirta Empul- the holy water temple.; A perfect beginning for cleansing and setting our intentions for the week ahead!
Morning yoga practice and meditation tailored to the vibe of the group. Following will be a fun lesson on the 7 Chakras of the body- Discussions on the balance and imbalance of the chakras, and the strengths they bring to the centering of our energetic body. In the afternoon, we will journey to swim and hike at the Tegenungan Waterfall and surrounding villages, and enjoy the scenic beauty of the inland Bali.
We will begin Day 3 with morning yoga and meditation, and then move into a study of Ayurvedic nutrition, including lessons on the 3 Doshas and how the balance of the elements effects your mental body, as well as your physical body. We will learn about what foods and elements do and don’t work for the individual person based on their dosha type. In the afternoon we will be attending a Raw Foods cooking class, with the evening free in town to explore the Ubud culture.
We will rise to an energetic yoga practice, set the tone of our day for adventure, as we head off on individual (or group, if desired) excursions as you please. Tours can be arranged to tour the coffee plantations, hike the volcano, snorkeling at the beach, the famous Bali Swing, or a temple tour of Bali - the day is yours to do as you please, and is limited only to your imagination. This is a great day to explore underwater walking, visit the local communities art scene, or find a pink beach and just be still.
For our very special day 5 we will be bringing in local culture experts to learn about the island of Bali, it's people, it's traditions. This will include much insight into daily life, preparation of offerings, and celebrations. We will venture to the art market in the afternoon before concluding our day in Ubud for the Nyepi parade and cultural festival, we will help them to scare away Bhuta Kala (demons), and then enjoy the rising of the spirits as the Ogoh-Ogoh with a parade, firecrackers and celebration.
The Day of Silence on the island of Bali will find calmness enshrouding the island. As this is a day of meditation and reflection, we will immerse our retreat center in the honor of this day. A morning slow flow to honor the day will open our hearts and minds before adhering to local tradition. This will include putting aside phones, computers, and electronics, as electricity is dimmed and candles are lit. We will be providing introspective journal prompts, candle gazing meditations, meditation mantras, and alternatives to silence our hearts and our minds in honoring the island culture, and provide an opportunity for personal check-ins and growth.
Our last day will be spent honoring our journey by providing a day of recovery and reset, understanding that a day of silence can be hard, but also healing on our inner critic, ego, and psyche we will return to and close with self-care. We will begin with an early morning caravan for sunrise beach yoga. After finding local fresh food for nourishment, we have various spa treatments available, local healing hot springs, a visit to a oceanside temple, afternoon healing herbal teas, and closing Fire Ceremony to close out our experience and prepare to return home with intention.
