Early morning pickup from your accommodation at around 8:15 – 09:00 am, then we leave for Manifa Elephant Camp. On the way we stop at Ban Xang Hai (Whisky Village), where the local rice wine is produced. At about 10 AM, we arrive at MANIFA ELEPHANT CAMP and start “MEANINGFUL ELEPHANT INTERACTIONS PROGRAM“.
After finishing 1 hour program, we drive northward 20 minute to Ban Hard Mard village. From there we start kayak on the Nam Ou River. We enjoy a breathtaking view of the tranquil countryside and see a wonderful nature built limestone cliffs called Pha Aen on the way. 1 hours kayaking take us to the first destination the confluence of the Nam Ou and Mekong Rivers, Pak Ou.
Upon arrival at Pak Ou, we visit the famous Pak Ou Caves : Two linked caves in the limestone cliff are crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes left by devoted pilgrims. Exploring the caves about 30 min, we start the second course of the kayaking on the Mekong River. We paddle down the Mekong for another 30 minutes until we ended our journey at Manifa Elephant Camp. There we enjoy a beautiful buffet style lunch at the restaurant – overlooking the Mekong River.
This adventure destination package takes you to the final destination Kuang Si Waterfall – you will have time to explore the three layered Kuang Si Waterfall walk the trails of the nature reserve and swim in the refreshing turquoise water pools and visit the bear rescue center. We leave for Luang Prabang in the late afternoon. We make a short visit at Ban Na Uan Hmong villageon the way. We return to the city between 5:30-6:00 PM which is the ideal time to visit Phousi Mountain to see sunset.
