About your trip

Four immersive days of geology, short walks, reading and sparkling company in a large, comfortable house in Fife. Whenever the weather suits, we'll get outside for short excursions to local sites of interest, including the fantastic geology of nearby locations such as St Monans, Crail harbour, Fife Ness, the fossil layers at Randerston, Kingsbarns and the Rock and Spindle volcanic vent near St Andrews. Depending on the weather, excursions might last for an hour or two or most of the day, then back to base for short talks and plenty geological discussion at your level, with plenty of resources to browse, absorb and discuss: including books, maps and microscope slides. This is a great informal opportunity for a general introduction to geology, or to get into more detail of any subject that interests you.

Terms & Conditions

A £50 non-refundable deposit secures your place, and the remaining fee is due 4 weeks in advance. After that point if you cannot attend, any refund will be at my discretion and normally only available if someone else is able to take your place.

About your organizer

G
Geowalks
Geowalks Geology Holidays give you the opportunity to visit Scotland’s finest rocks and landscapes. These are small group tours of around 10 people. We explore an area in a series of day walks, at a relaxed pace with lots of flexibility. We frequently pause to enjoy the views, the wildlife and flowers and to explore the human stories of the landscapes we are immersed in. I’ve been organising these holidays since 2001. In that time I’ve led over 100 holidays and tours to 17 different locations around Scotland.
